Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Wang.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started violin and piano training since age 4, and had a professional training on both instruments in Taiwan. However, I decided to switch to be a software engineer during my collage. Being a violin tutor during my university years, I discovered that I love violin, and I love to teach violin. Therefore, I started my music bachelor degree in violin performance in New Zealand after I graduated, and decided to pursue master’s and doctoral degree at University of North Texas under professor Julia Bushkova.
Love to teach children or anyone who loves to play violin or piano. I always try to find different ways to teach students according to their ability and personality. In addition, I also not only a tradition-trained classical musician, but also trying to find different methods to teach kids. I attend to Suzuki teacher training every year, and now I have a studio in Plano, Texas, which use both traditional and Suzuki method to teach violin/viola.
Has it been a smooth road?
Students and parents have different expectation on instruments learning. I need to find the best way to understand what they need. In addition, students and parents often have questions about their instruments, e.g. where to get a good instrument to play, how can they fix their instrument. I keep trying on providing great information and service in my studio.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Plano Suzuki Violin Music Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a private music instructor, I teach violin, viola, and piano along with music theory.
I am proud of myself to be a teacher that helps students to enjoy playing instruments, and I love them to be able to have very good foundation on techniques and musicality to play these instruments.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I wish I can provide great private and group violin/viola lessons, and also can do the instruments buying/renting system that students and parents trust.
