So, I’ve always had a desire to create a space for women to come as they are…well put together or a total hot mess! I think that’s the beauty of sisterhood, is that you can always be certain that you will come across another woman that’s just like you. I want to be an inspiration to other women to be a voice for those who’s still trying to build up the courage to use their own; and to always show sist’herly love no matter what. The birth of Sip N Seal Sist’Her Women’s Empowerment Group came to fruition from a random Facebook post seeking like-minded women who would be interested in hooking up for wine and conversation and the rest is history.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Having a Women’s Empowerment Group can be a struggle when it comes to gaining the trust of other ladies when it’s something new and unfamiliar…a lot of ladies are very private when it comes to allowing themselves to be open and vulnerable with complete and total strangers. So, I challenge myself daily to come up with ways for engagement, building, and to really create a genuine sisterhood where on any given day we feel comfortable to be ourselves without judgment.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sip N Seal Sist’Her Women’s Empowerment Group – what should we know?
Sip N Seal Sist’Her is a Women’s Empowerment Group that focus on four principles which are: accountability, empowerment, support, and uplift. Sip N Seal Sist’Her has bi-weekly Mental Health Check-in calls where we discuss different topics every other week to converse, vent, and to relieve stress. We also have monthly Sist’Her Linkup events where we choose a location to meet up for girl time. We have brunches, community service projects, retreats and more. S&S specializes in Sistherhood, it’s that simple! We motivate and encourage one another to be at our BEST in everything that we do.
I am most proud of S&S for being real examples of a true sisters keeper. We strive daily to be a positive influence in our lives as well as our community and it shows in how we deal with one another, it’s a great feeling to not have to always have it together 24/7 and still be loved!
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Honestly…I always wanted MORE, and now I’m here to collect! I have an incredible group of Sist’Hers that stand with me, and that’s one of the greatest feelings in the world!
