Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Simpson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been interested in real estate, but my passion was for teaching, so naturally, I became a teacher. After six years as a teacher and two years in administration, though, I realized the K-12 educational environment was not for me. I knew that I could use my teaching background in other ways, I just had to figure out what that looked like.
Now, as a real estate agent, I am able to educate friends, family, and clients on all things real estate. Whether they want to learn about buying, selling, leasing, or investing, they know that they will get open and honest answers by reaching out to me.
I have had my real estate license for one year today and not only have I learned so much, but I have been able to share my new knowledge with so many people. I am so glad I decided to take this leap and can’t wait to see how many more people I can help through real estate.
Has it been a smooth road?
My journey has definitely had its ups and downs. I always thought I’d be a teacher then a principal and retire from education at an old age, so leaving after 8 years was definitely tough – and I miss my students all the time. However, I have an amazing support system that has backed me in every single decision I’ve made and provided guidance along the way to help me make the best decision for myself.
We’d love to hear more about about your work.
Currently, I specialize in the East Dallas area with first-time home buyers and sellers. My goal is to make the process as smooth as possible for all parties involved, so I really take the time to educate my clients on things they should expect throughout the process. I provide free home buyers & sellers guides to anyone who is interested in learning more about the process and I’m always happy to answer any questions they may have.
I’m different from other agents because my goal with real estate is simple: to help others achieve their goals – whatever those may be. I consider it a success when I’m able to help my sellers get the biggest return on their investment & also when I help my first-time homebuyers get into the home they have been dreaming of! It’s not about me, it’s about my clients.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
My reading collection is a bit all over the place right now. Jodi Piccoult is by far my favorite author – I’ve read pretty much all her books. The most recent ones I read were Small Great Things & A Spark of Light. I HIGHLY recommend those!
I’m also loving Dax Sheppard’s Armchair Expert & Unlocking Us with Brene Brown Podcasts!
