Meet Trailblazer Jenny Kaiser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Kaiser.

Jenny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After just four years as a real estate professional, I am proud to be a multi-million dollar producer ranked in the top 25% of agents in DFW and was the top producing individual agent in August for Coldwell Banker Apex Allen. You may wonder how this came to be and here is my journey.

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I’ve lived in the Dallas area since 1999. After graduating from SMU’s Cox School of Business with a degree in financial consulting, I started out with a career in wealth management and, after some time, realized that industry was not where my passion lied. I had grown to love the Bikram Yoga practice and decided to attend the teacher training in Los Angeles in 2006 before moving on to the next phase of my career. I had a very short stint teaching yoga before I joined my husband in the wholesale furniture business. I worked with him for just over ten years managing the interior design accounts.

While working in that business, I developed a love of home furnishings and a keen eye for beautiful homes and design. Nearly five years ago I struck up a discussion with a fellow Chi Omega alumni while volunteering for the 37th Chi Omega Christmas Market and she mentioned they needed some help on their real estate team. I’d always been interested in the real estate industry and, after further discussions, felt that it would be a great fit. By that time, my two young sons were in pre-school full-time, and I was ready for my own business. I was so fortunate to join a team upon starting out in this industry and very quickly gained an immense amount of knowledge which I otherwise would have not been exposed.

Eventually, I branched out to run my own business within a boutique brokerage firm. Within a year and a half, I had more than doubled my business and in January of 2018 was ranked one of the Top 10 individual agents in the entire brokerage for a number of homes sold in a single month. Because of that growth, I decided to strategically look at my long-term goals. Earlier this year, I made a brokerage change to Coldwell Banker Apex where I felt confident I’d have the best resources for my clients and myself, the marketing support needed and a strong international market presence. It’s become clear that I made the right choice as my business is up 128% over last year. Since being at Coldwell Banker Apex, I’m honored to have achieved the prestigious certifications of a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Specialist and a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
From wealth management to yoga teacher to wholesale furniture distribution to real estate. It’s been a winding road, and I can say that I have found my true passion! There are many reasons, both joyful and unpleasant, for people to move – buying their very first home, selling because they’re now empty nesters, moving up because of a growing family or major promotion, moving on to the next stage after divorce or death of a loved one. Sure there are stressful days and situations throughout the process but, when you’re sitting at the closing table, and you know you’ve helped someone to buy or sell what is likely their largest asset, all the bumps in the road are worth it a million times over.

My best pieces of advice are to believe in yourself, never give up and don’t be afraid to take a chance! Change is hard; be bold and take a leap of faith! Otherwise, you’ll never know what you are missing. You will know in your heart once you’ve found your true north.

Last, create your community and get involved. As a parent and business owner, it’s so very important to be supported and valued in the community. Find something you are passionate about and give back to the community. Over the years, I’ve been heavily involved with various positions in the Chi Omega Alumnae of Dallas, the SMU Chi Omega Housing Corporation Board, the Eddins Elementary PTA board, and the Junior League of Dallas.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about your work – what should we know?
I am most proud of how my business has grown organically. 100% of my clients are referrals from family, friends, and community members. People want to do business with someone who they know, like and trust and I’m fortunate that this has happened naturally for me. I understand that my client’s positive experience is the most important aspect of my business and it’s my duty to make the process as fun and stress-free as possible. Excellent communication and top notch customer service come first for me, and I believe that’s what helps me to stand apart from the crowd in this fast-paced industry.

I am warm and trustworthy; yet very tenacious. As a powerful negotiator, I am not fearful of difficult conversations and bring innovative ideas and strategies to each transaction. My market knowledge combined with my passion and unfaltering work ethic continues to exceed client’s expectations. Throughout the years, my husband and I have owned homes in Uptown, the M Streets and we found our current home in McKinney in 2012. Having made these moves, I have extensive knowledge of both city and suburban neighborhoods in DFW. With a background in finance and design, I can provide my clients with a distinct advantage when it comes to the numbers and the importance of staging in the home sale process. My clients have said that my loyalty, energy, and sense of humor make working with me a joy.

Whether working with a first-time home buyer or a seasoned homeowner, it’s my priority to ensure clients are educated on next steps and looped in with professional transaction coordination every step of the way. My innovative marketing, professional staging services, and photography, agent-to-agent networking, and solid social media presence have proven to be very successful in getting to the closing table.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I think one of the biggest barriers to female leadership today, which we control, is the lack of confidence to take a stand and ask for what you want. If more women raised their hands in meetings and spoke their voice, I believe they would feel more empowered in their careers and leadership roles. It takes great bravery to be vulnerable and speak your truth, and that does not always come easily or naturally for everyone.

Fortunately and in my experience, the world of real estate is very supportive of women in leadership. Coldwell Banker Apex is the #1 woman-owned Coldwell Banker in the U.S., Our broker, Lori Arnold, is a fearless leader and a true inspiration. She’s a wife, mother, grandmother, business owner and all around great person who wants nothing but the very best for her agents.
