Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Overton.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Krisen Home began in 2016, about a year after having my first child. I made the switch from full time to part time status at work, so that I could take care of my daughter. Between the newborn stage and Olivia becoming mobile, I felt like I had a bit of extra time on my hands. So, Olivia and I spent our afternoons perusing thrift shops, estate sales, and flea markets. Soon, I was shopping with the idea of dealing in mind. Next thing I knew, we had quite a collection accumulating in our dining room! I’ve always loved taking pictures, and styling shots of furniture was no different. My father in law was gracious enough to design a logo for the business and also helped me get a website up and running. Our goods can be found on our website, in seasonal Dallas markets, and we offer collections at Flea Style’s Deep Ellum boutique. I am so grateful for this side hustle, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Krisen Home!
Has it been a smooth road?
For me, the first struggle was moving past all of the questions like, “Should I even attempt to do this & will people like these goods as much as I do?”. I would advise anyone starting out to just take the first small step, and don’t feel like you have to have every single detail planned out in advance. Put your creation out there already!

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I think I learned through competitive sports, dance, and cheerleading that hard work and dedication really do pay off. It may sound simple but it’s true.
