Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Lawless.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Megan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a working wife, mommy, fashion and lifestyle blogger based out of Dallas/Fort Worth but originally from Michigan.
I started my blog Table for Three while pregnant with my first daughter, Olivia. Olivia was a micro-preemie and spent the first 80 days of her life in the NICU. While this was going on, I turned to blogging to keep track of updates on Olivia as well as find a way to take my mind off of the negative and focus on the positive as the NICU journey was quite the rollercoaster. It was also a great way to connect with others going through the same thing I was. I continued to blog through our NICU experience, navigating life as a new mom, through my second pregnancy with my daughter Ava but then life got busy and daily blogging turned into weekly blogging then monthly then CRICKETS.
I have always loved using social media to share (or in some cases over share) photos of what the girls and I were wearing, doing, eating, sales I found, etc. I missed having a space to create and share so I created the space “Raising them Lawless.” What started locally has organically grown into a community of parents and friends all across the nation! I love getting to communicate every day through messages, comments and emails with such a supportive network.
I am just a Sleep Deprived//Caffeinated//Real Life Mama doing my best and keeping our local coffee shops and Target in business! You can follow along as we share tips, recipes, mom topics, DIY, affordable fashion, must-haves and more!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part was just starting, not caring what others thought. Once I started, I never looked back and I have been VERY fortunate to have such a supportive community! My favorite quote that I have in my office is “You know all those things you’ve always wanted to do? You should go do them.” Life is too short to live life with regrets and not be happy. I’ve learned as I have gotten older that I have to fill my own cup to be the best wife, mom and friend, and this little space I have created definitely fills my cup!
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I love getting messages from followers telling me that they love that I am authentic and that they trust my recommendations. I truly value that feedback because those are two things that are very important to me. I will never recommend something that I wouldn’t use or buy myself. My reputation means a lot to me and I love that my followers value my opinion.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
For me, I love sharing my real-life experiences, the good and bad. When I was a new mom, I learned from the NICU nurses the do’s and don’ts and then once we were home we had to navigate everything on our own. We read the books but they didn’t apply to what we were going through. I hope from the experiences I shared, I am a good resource to others.
