Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Robinson.
Raven, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi, I am also known as Raven Love, I am 27 years old and a mother two amazing sons, I grew up on the north side of Saint Louis City growing up in Saint Louis wasn’t always the best experience. But I am beyond grateful to have had the experiences I had growing up there. I have failed tasks on many occasions. Walked some of the same streets most are walking on today. Even though where I come from have little to no access to be successful, I did not give up. I kept the strength, I kept pushing through the pain, hurt, betrayal & heartache regardless of what I was faced with and what loss I had taken in my life and what others may have thought of me I kept going. Being a teen mom and having a reckless past felt the world was against me. I dealt with many challenges and overcame all of them.
Now, I am committed to doing God works. I believe God works through us not for us to sit still and not tell our testimonies. I ask myself every day if I were to die today what would I be leaving behind; will I go down as just a girl who lived just because she was alive or would I have touched and changed someone life that will change their perceptive forever! Not for what I could give them financially but the knowledge I encounter I can spread. Being obedient to God to get up and tell my story and be all in with him, the winning team. To speak and acknowledge that was me “yes, I am the girl who had done so much wrong in her past, that’s me, the girl who has been broken, the girl who was the most talked about telling her story to the world who is walking boldly in her calling. Not for what people think of me but for what God thinks of me. I am not perfect I am tempted every day just like every other human but my goal is to be my best self every day.
However, I take the “L” and I push through no matter the situation every time. My perception has changed. When there is a pain I am facing, I am expecting to come out stronger and greater. My past isn’t my destiny it’s a chapter in my book. I am a mother, full-time employee, author, speaker, educator, along with many other amazing talents. I love to encourage, motivate, and inspire many teens and women by sharing my story my journey through speaking. Every day I ask God to use me in everything I have done. Everything that I have been through. Everything that I have seen. Allow me to be the proof that anything is possible when you are a commitment to your dreams and goals and of course HIM. I don’t want anything from you but for you to leave this blog knowing your worth and knowing anything is possible if you just believe.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road but it’s been a road that only God can take credit for, I came to Dallas in 2014 with 1300.00 and two bags of clothes, I had no idea what was in store for me I just step out on faith and God did the rest I don’t know how but I’m here able to tell my story so I just always give the highest praise to him. I knew I wanted to change though I would look at the world and want to change the world until I realize I had to change myself and that will change how I see the world. My advice to other women and particularly young women is to always put God first and follow the uncomfortable, that’s when you know you’re going the right direction, never let anyone put their fears or limitations onto you, never doubt yourself, always approach any situation with “I can” and “I will.”
We’d love to hear more about All In!
I’m currently a full-time employer at Quest Diagnostics, I attend Capella University where I am a full-time student to obtain my bachelor’s degree in BS with specialization of leadership. I am known for my short inspiring videos and my blog “All In” where I discuss some of my first-hand experiences and how I view the world. All In is an upcoming ministry I am currently building for all young adults and adults under 30 to come together to be All In with God, to just be able to motivate our little ones who come behind us. All in is all about the process of breaking generational cycles and curses and being the best person you can be.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Be committed to the process even when you feel the process isn’t moving, always have a failure plan, a plan that will navigate you through if the plan that you had failed. We all have a plan to reach success and when we hit something that we didn’t see coming, we give up because we didn’t have failure plan to get us through, to keep us going, we all have to understand failure is a part of success.
