Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Nadine Robles.
Stephanie Nadine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a wife/mom/photographer based in a suburb city located east of the city of Dallas. My passion for photography came soon after I had my son. I became a stay at home mom because my husband and I felt it was best for our son. So, I got pregnant, left my job that I worked so hard for, and I thought that was it for me. At times, I found myself feeling useless but God is always so good. In the loss of my job and the gain of my son, is how I discovered my passion for photography.
My husband saw how much I loved taking pictures of our son so he surprised me with my first camera. After communicating with my husband about my plans on following my passion is when Photography By Nadine was created. I am self-taught and have spent hours getting to know all the ins and outs of a camera as well as managing a new world of having a business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not, but nothing good comes easy. There were many hardships and tribulations but customer service was the hardest for me. Not in the sense of being nice or helping a client, but more of having to interact with a lot of people and different personalities. I am more of an introvert so I was always getting straight to business, but I found that it is much better to build a relationship with every client. Photography definitely challenged me to step out of my shell. I literally get emotional thinking about it because I feel so grateful for the strength God gave me during that time and still now.
For women who are just starting their journey in photography, I would say to focus on the entire business. Not just the learning of the camera, etc but also customer service. It plays a very important part of your brand. Make a connection with every client and generate integrity so that your brand can be built on good character and trust.
We’d love to hear more about Photography By Nadine.
Photography is my full-time job. I specialize in family portraits, maternity, couples, children, and more.
My editing style is moody with earthy tones. I love capturing raw intimate moments that show a real connection and strive to bring real moments to life through the art of photography. My ultimate goal is to capture natural meaningful moments.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
I feel the biggest barriers today for females is support and confidence.
Support not only financially but also socially. In today’s world, social media helps tremendously when it comes to sharing your work and getting your brand out there. A simple “like” or “share” from our loved ones would help a lot in the social aspect of the support that is needed to reach more people and build clientele.
Confidence is a big one. We need to believe more in ourselves and just take that leap of faith, especially if what we are wanting to pursue is our passion.
