Today we’d like to introduce you to Susana Munoz.
Susana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love makeup. It all started one day when one of my girlfriends asked me to do her wedding makeup, but at that time, I was going through a really hard time in my life. I was going through depression due to a 6-year relationship brake up and the last thing I wanted to do was makeup. weeks before the wedding she reached out to me and asked again, so I ended up doing her makeup. everything went perfect, the bride looked so beautiful and was so happy and pleased. That day changed my life completely. I never thought that Me painting faces could bring so much joy and happiness to my life. Everything happens for a reason, those two reasons helped me become a great MUA. Also, all my hard work, energy and time have brought me to where I am now. I’ve taken makeup classes and watched YouTube videos to learn the different makeup techniques in the beauty industry.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Makeup Artist/Freelancer in Dallas, Texas. I specialize in makeup for different occasions, Quinces, Birthday glams, Baby showers, Night outs, Engagement photos or Wedding showers, but my favorite is Bridal Parties. With over three years of experience as a makeup artist, I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of clients. I cherish the time I get to spend with them and learn more about who they are, what their passions are and why THEY do what they do. I learn so much from my clients, and for that, I am so thankful.
Life is all about people and having the opportunity to meet and connect with interesting new people is one of the biggest reasons I love being a makeup artist. I love knowing that every day I am going to learn something new and that every day is going to be different.
I am known for being a passionate person about my work. I am proud of being a makeup artist and working so hard to make my dreams come true. I want people to know that being a makeup artist is more than just a hobby, makeup is a big part of my life.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Always believe in yourself. Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen. We can do anything we set our mind to.
