Meet Travius Warden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travius Warden.

Travius, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Louisiana and raised in port author with my grandfather. I lost my mom at twelve. That’s how my journey in music & everything else come about. The fear of leaving my kids with nothing. I have four kids. I’m twenty-eight & seeing how the youth is dying & not growing. These days the elderly is living longer than the youth. I have my own business/skate brand. I’ve produced six of the seven albums I put out the last two & a half years.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t a smooth road. I went through obstacles & dead ends. Doing time almost my whole teenage years. Dealing with family issues, from losing my mom & trying to find a relationship with my dad. Figuring out what was my purpose was the hardest phase. I didn’t want to rap. I couldn’t take it seriously from being in the streets. It wasn’t until my aunt & a few other close ones just were like man you have a story & you need to let it out because people relate. So, I did it & here I am today. Seven projects in.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Young LA Cat is my entertainer’s name. I’m a singer/songwriter. I have two solo R&B singles out as well. I’m not just a rapper I sing as well. My style & everything I do sets me apart from others. I’m the first rapper to start his own skate brand. I’m most proud of myself for simply not giving up on me! Life isn’t easy, I’ve lost people & almost myself trying to deal with life itself.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I feel risks are necessary in life. Without a risk of anything then you have nothing to stand on or stand for. I’ve been a risk-taker all my life. It just comes a time when you get older you pick & choose what kind of risks you take.
