Meet Tre of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tre.

Hi Tre , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started having a serious interest in music in middle school and began to learn guitar. By high school, I was consumed with music, playing in a garage band, running live sound for my high school musicals, orchestra and choir shows, working at a music store, and interning at a local recording studio. After high school, I moved to Orlando to study music production at Full Sail University and graduated valedictorian of my class. I returned to Dallas to help with family issues and landed a job as a recording engineer at the newly opened Luminous Sound Studios, a world-class recording studio facility. After 5 or 6 years working with lots of local artists, and the occasional national act there, I started running and managing the facility. Around the same time I got the gig to be an engineer and co-producer for gospel superstar Kirk Franklin. That led to a long 15 year relationship with him, 3 Grammy wins, and lots of other projects. Since, I have had the opportunity to work with a long list of fantastic artists like Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Lady Gaga, Jason Mraz, Blake Shelton, and many others. I won a 4th Grammy for a classical album with the London Symphony in 2022, was nominated last year for a broadway style album with Josh Groban and other Tony award winners, and am nominated this year for an opera album. In 2020, I became an owner of Luminous Sound, where I had been working for over 20 years now. I also co-founded a record label in 2024 that has since signed a deal with a major label and is doing well. My most recent notable project has been producing the theme song to represent Dallas in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. It’s an honor to get to represent my city on a global scale.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think most people have a smooth road in life. There are always challenges and obstacles to overcome in any journey. The entertainment business is known for being difficult. Being an entrepreneur means not always knowing where your next paycheck is coming from and not having stability. It requires a lot of discipline and self-motivation. It’s a lot more hours and less glamorous than most people think, though I will admit, it has it’s moments.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do many things, but all of them revolve around music production. My background is as an audio engineer and producer. I am mostly known now for mixing records, being a music producer, and the co-owner and face of Luminous Sound. The studio does everything audio, from making records for artists, writing and producing original music for advertising and other media, audio post for film and video, audiobooks, podcasts, sound effects design and more.

The accolades and credits are nice, but I’m most proud of getting to help other artists and musicians put together projects and realize their dreams.

I think what sets me apart is that I have a my experience. I have traveled the world studying and listening, working with some of the greatest artists of all time, countless hours in the worlds best studios honing my craft, and there’s no substitute for that kind of experience. I also try to never stop learning.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
What’s I think has been important to my success has been my attitude and my wanting to serve artists and their vision. Also upholding a high level of professionalism, which I think carries into any career.
