Treslyn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Painting people has always intrigued me. I remember as a teenager stating that I would love to become any type of artist except for a figurative painter, because the task of painting a person, while fascinating, seemed all too intimidating. However, midway through college, I began to crave making art that my friends would enjoy and understand, art that was approachable and unassuming. The obvious answer for me, therefore, was to paint them! I have since painted over 200 bright and colorful portraits, each hoping to capture the personality and unique characteristics of the individual. Besides portraits, I also enjoy recreating in-between moments captured on film into keepsake paintings.
Has it been a smooth road?
Beginning an art business had a steep learning curve with a few bumps along the way, such as those pesky quarterly taxes and ordering perhaps triple the business cards necessary, but the rewards have been plentiful. Working in art has sparked a deep desire to continue this career long term. I feel incredibly lucky to have daily opportunities to do what I love!

I paint portraits and memories for businesses and families in oil paint. My style is bright and colorful, and for my portraits, I love capturing the fun expressions of the person. The focus for each painting, whether it’s a child or puppy or a photo recreated, is capturing the essence of the person and moment.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Fort Worth has been a great place to begin a life and a business! The city is caring for its creatives and entrepreneurs, and I have loved getting to know the community around me.
