Meet Trevor Armstrong and Larry Auth of Game On in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trevor Armstrong and Larry Auth.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Trevor and Larry. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Our partnership began eight years ago with a shared passion for sports and hospitality. Having spent a combined forty plus years in the hospitality business, our paths crossed several times in the Fort Worth business community and after exchanging business cards, we discovered that we both loved playing sports – from a young age through adulthood. Understanding the impact sports played in our own and our families’ personal development – we began our quest to bring Fort Worth first class indoor facilities and professional service for all ages and abilities. We decided to take what we both were good at, customer service and management, and give it our best shot. We began with Game On Arena Sports offering two first class indoor turf fields designed primarily for the soccer and flag football communities. Soon after our dream expanded to bring premium facilities for all sports to the Fort Worth community. Thanks to the sporting community and partners developed over the years, we broke ground on our second world class venue; Game On Sports Complex which opened October 2016.

The Dallas/Fort Worth community is passionate about its sports and the Game On brand today offers Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball/Softball training, Flag Football, Futsal, Beach Volleyball and Home School Physical Education. We are incredibly proud of what we have built between the two facilities and to now be able to give all families and athletes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area access to premier facilities and to chase their athletic potential.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the challenges along the way.
Countless and too many to list! We are truly proud of what we learned from opening our first facility through today. We would not be the brand we are today without all those lessons learned along the journey. The number one lesson we’ve learned along the way is how to adapt to challenges and opportunities. Dallas/Fort Worth is unique and the people of Fort Worth in particular really work together and many have become like family. We have learned that through listening to our community and forming new partnerships, whether corporate partners, sports clubs, elite athletic performance trainers or wellness partners, the sky is the limit for what we are able to provide our great community. Truth be told, we began trying to run everything ourselves and it did not take long before we learned the tremendous value of partnerships. We are still evolving but what we learned is that we had to reach out to our community and ask them to partner with us so that we could grow and provide the best experience for our families.

For example, when our athletes of all ages expressed an interest additional wellness offerings we went to work to find partners to deliver this. We first found APEC who is a world class performance training organization whose first location is in Tyler, Texas. APEC Fort Worth is now located inside of our Game On Sports Complex and word is spreading fast that whether you are a young athlete looking to gain that extra step or an adult that is looking to get back in shape, there is no better place to help you achieve your goals. Next we opened our GO Wellness Center and partnered with several professionals who now provide our local athletes and families with everything from postural restoration to chiropractic, massage and cryo therapies helping keep our local community healthy.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Game On – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Fort Worth is fantastic city for both family and business! For a larger city especially, it is a tight nit community that is supportive of its own in every respect. Because of these factors, we recommend doing a lot of market research for the business you are passionate about before jumping in. It is also critical that the business fully understand the competitive landscape especially in the service industry.
