Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Suire and Andy Cunningham.
Trey and Andy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our passion for high quality coffee, food and community put us on the path to open Golden Boy Coffee Co. After many years of working in the coffee/restaurant industry we both got to a point that we knew it was time to start our own company. You get to the point in the coffee world where you have reached the top of the ladder and there is just nowhere else to go. We felt with both of our backgrounds combined the best course of action was to venture out on our own and open a barista owned coffee shop. Many baristas get to a point in their careers just like we did that running coffee shops and coffee programs weren’t going to provide enough for our families. We want to show baristas there is another option than just staying in your current situation and that it is possible with a lot of hard work and dedication to open up your own coffee shop.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always struggles and bumps in the road, however because of our passion and dedication for the quality we do not sweat the small stuff.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Golden Boy Coffee Co. – what should we know?
We are a barista-owned shop that will be serving ethically sourced coffee, crafted cocktails, and scratch made food offerings. At GBCC, we strive to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment right here in Denton, TX! We offer direct farm to table foods prepared in house and utilize all the best that Texas has to offer including local beers, wines, liquors and coffee roasters. By offering unique food offerings and scratch made in house pastries and also employing some of the most knowledge trend setting staff in Texas, we feel we can give our customers something new.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Our attention to detail and our willingness to work hard will always drive our success. When it comes to making exceptions or cutting corners we do not bend. We are both very stubborn, just ask our wives.
