Meet Triana Tesche

Today we’d like to introduce you to Triana Tesche.

Triana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started when I studied photojournalism in school – that’s when I got my first look at a DSLR camera. I discovered the joy in taking pictures of people and after I completed the course, my dad surprised me with my very own camera. My friends and I would use my camera and have photoshoots of our own. And even though I didn’t know what the heck I was doing at the time, taking pictures was something I loved to do. I’ve always loved the idea of being able to preserve memories through photography. Throughout college, I pursued other things and kind of forgot about photography but somewhere along the way it kept tugging at my heart. So, I enrolled in photography courses and bought myself a brand-spanking’ new camera.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. When I made the decision to pursue photography, I was actually terrified of stepping out of my comfort zone but I decided to take the leap anyway. I compared myself to other photographers all the time, which made me doubt my own work and self-worth. I also struggled with finding my style – I had to experiment a lot, whether that was going from light and airy to dark and moody.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a couples + portrait photographer based in the DFW area. I enjoy photography because it gives me the opportunity to serve and love the people right in front of me. I also love to capture styled shoots and other life events like birthdays, baby showers, seniors and more.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I want to continue to grow and shoot more frequently. Later this year, I plan on shooting a wedding and I would love to officially become a wedding + elopement photographer in the next five years or so.

I’m also considering shooting more than just people. I’m an avid dog lover so I’d like to shoot pets and animals in general.
