Meet Trish Hill of Salon N’Vious in Mesquite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trish Hill.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Trish. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a Licensed Cosmetologist for 15 years. Opened my first Salon, Salon N’Vious in 2009. I opened a few locations throughout the years. In 2014 I opened a second location in Jonesville, La. In December 2011 I created “A Night for the Stars” Beauty Industry Awards and Gala that is held annually in Dallas, TX. In 2013 designed a T-shirt line entitled “Its Beyond Hair”. In February 2016 I became the author of a book entitled Getting Started 101 “What’s My Next Step???” I travel all over the US being a Guest Speaker motivating others to stay in the Beauty Industry. Just recently created The Trish Hill Foundation to provide make overs to all people battling cancer.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth Road! Being a Single Mother raising kids and running a Salon has plenty of bumps alone the Journey! My kids are my inspiration, they are my drive and the motivation that keeps me going. Also I travel all over motivating and inspiring others to stay in the Beauty Industry that I never would want to let them down. So many people look up to me especially the single mothers. They say if Trish can do it, I can do it! Being a Salon Owner we are semi responsible for our Team/ Staff to take care of their Families Financially. If I chose to quit and close Salon down today, these people would have to seek other locations to operate their business. Clients are having to move to other locations and risk of losing money is a major.

Salon N’Vious – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have a Hair Salon that is very Family Oriented. We offer services that can take care of the whole Family! My salon is very interesting Our Team ages range from 33-75 so you can only imagine what a day inside our Salon is like! We are considered to be the best kept secret in Mesquite! We are located in an Office Plaza so people are not aware that we are in the Plaza but when they arrive they are WOWED. Little things like our Hair Dryers amaze them because they are unique and different from what they typically see in a Salon. I am very proud to be the youngest one of My Team running and owning the Salon. What sets us apart is our uniqueness. Our Clients are like our Family, we are there for each other when needed. We cater to our Clients and make them feel much appreciated!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in My Career is when I was on the Local News & Radio Station (WFAA, CW33, K104 & 105.7) this past December talking about my Gala. Seeing My Daughter & Mother reaction to not only hearing but seeing me in action was priceless! That was truly a Highlight & proud moment in my career. Coming from a small country town in Louisiana making it the TV screen in a positive way is such an inspiration!
