We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
What once began as a hobby back in the 90’s and has continued until today, has brought a group of individuals together as a team. Tru sound was founded back in July of 2015 when members of pleazing 1 productionz and d&r entertainment built a relationship together to team up as one as we are known today. We are just some local Dallas guys who share the same interests in music.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road to begin with and we all know that. You have to start from the bottom and work your way up to as far as you want to take it. You always have your disagreements, different opinions and attitudes towards things. This is normal and is what will make you or break you. We have learned to adapt and overcome obstacles that have crossed our paths, but needless to say it has been a smooth ride for the most part.

We are TRU SOUND COALITION out of Dallas, Texas and like we’ve said earlier, we are just a group of individuals who share the same interests in music and are always looking for the next party to rock. We all started deejaying on our own before we connected prior to 2015. Most of us picked it up as a hobby that led to getting asked to come play at private events and others have been doing it their entire life. We have over 25 years in experience give or take a few, and we have come along way to be where we are now. If it hadn’t been for those djs who opened the doors to everyone, chances are we may not have been here today. We once were those kids being the ones that would eventually be able to play for a crowd, but the first rule was that we would have had to help carry the crates first. Before we proceed and for the record, we would like to recognize those who’ve inspired us to be who we are and to those we thank are as follow: Dj Am, Dj Michael “5000” Watts, Dj Ivan G, Bass Junkies, Dj Big Baby (R.I.P.), Jammin Joe, 89.3 Knon Family, Bad Boy Bill, Richard Humpty Vision, Dj Laz, Dj Jazzy Jeff, Dj Craze, Francisco Javier And The X-Ecutioners, the list goes on but these were just a few that inspired us to pick up the craft. We salute you!
We are known for playing an open format of music depending on the type of party, but we can cater to anything. We specialize in private events as in weddings, quince eras, corporate parties, holiday parties, etc. There’s not a party too small or too big that we can’t handle, especially when we all contribute to make things happen. Some of us are better than others at certain things and when we all put in the work, well that’s where the greatness happens.
One of the things that separates us from the rest is that we all grew up in the era of the hip-hop culture. Our crew consists of individuals who practiced or performed one of the four elements in the hip hop era, as we have bboys, graffiti artists, emcees and now as we are known for as djs. We also have guys that write their own music, create beats and can do their own producing. When we host our own events, we fund all of it ourselves out of pocket, as we have not teamed up with any sponsors, but if the future brings them in our path we will gladly welcome them. We work and strive hard in what we do and in our craft. We are always willing to partner up with any other djs, artists, or local businesses to help grow. We aren’t just djs sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring to get a possible booking. You can find us at various spots throughout the week pretty much north of the metroplex and if you are into fitness you can come check us out at any f45 training north of President George bush turnpike. Dallas, Texas is a big city for many things and in our case we feel that we fit right in. We would most definitely recommend this city to those who seek opportunity like we did. There is plenty, and we mean plenty of it here in the “big d”. You’ll occasionally get those who will collaborate with you to help boost your success as well as theirs.
