Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyffani Palmer.
Hi Tyffani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I knew I wanted to go in to healthcare, but I was unsure of what specific field. I met a dentist in college, and I was allowed to shadow and observe. I decided that dentistry was the field I wanted to pursue. I completed dental school and worked for four years in a community health center. I learned, at that time, that I gravitated towards children more. I then pursued a residency in pediatric dentistry, which I completed in 2017. I worked as an associate dentist until 2023, when I decided to open my own practice in order to practice in the way that felt best for me. We are a small, but growing practice, trying to provide the best care possible for children in the North Fort Worth/Keller area.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. College was full of challenges, from academic challenges to financial difficulties. I got divorced the year before I entered my pediatric residency, which left me as a single mom in a city with no family. My mom retired from teaching after 42 years and moved to my city to help me with my daughter while I was completing school.
We’ve been impressed with Sunny Side of the Street Pediatric Dentistry, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is a pediatric dental practice. We specialize in dentistry for children, providing specialized and gentle dental care for kids. We are 2.5 years old and growing. We are a family owned practice. There are no corporate owners and only one dentist – everyone sees the same dentist every time they come in. I am proud of the care and compassion that we show for our patients. We do not overbook, and we try our best to provide enough time for each patient to have their individual needs met. We pride ourselves on offering personalized care , and we see our little patients as family
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We offer a variety of treatment modalities to make sure that our kids are comfortable, including nitrous oxide, oral sedation and in-office general anesthesia. We want going to the dentist to be fun for kids, and we hope that they leave asking when they get to come back!
