Meet Tyrone “Ty” Smith of TYMELESS Real Estate & TYMELESS Styles in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrone “Ty” Smith.

Tyrone, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Many times, I’ve asked myself what my talent or skill is, and couldn’t see it; All I knew was that I liked to serve and help others and that I was a quick learner and fashionable in my own right.

From my first fashion show as a teenager in the church to picking out clothes for my buddies in college before an event and now dressing professional business people, athletes and entertainers, I’ve truly enjoyed helping people look and feel great about themselves.

My interest in real estate started with a road trip. I grew up in Pleasant Grove, TX but spent many of my summers in Buffalo, TX with my Granny Maxine. Going from the concrete jungle to the red dirt and unpaved roads gave me an appreciation for land from a young age. This interest was solidified my freshman year of high school when I met my mentor, “Pops,” who is a Real Estate investor and Mortgage Banker. He showed me the value of ownership and the business of real estate. I love and have a passion to see families thrive in ownership and produce generational wealth.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is a challenge that I enjoy because it allows me to play an important role in something larger than myself as well as leave a legacy. My first struggle came from within. Graduate, go to college, and get a good job or go pro was echoed by many to me, so that required me to shift my mind. So many people let athleticism or their job status define success, but I wanted something different. The second challenge was overcoming the fear of failure. Every loss is a lesson that I had to embrace and grow from or be forced to repeat it. Most of these lessons came from finances, relationships and life experiences/choices.

WHO AM I?

Lover of God, Son of a Tailor, and Honored to be your Wardrobe Stylist and Realtor!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be high school football spring training. Going through that process did so much for me as a young man. I was challenged physically by the Texas heat combined with the grueling routines and weight room sessions. My peers and coaches pushed me beyond what I thought was possible time and time again. I moved mental barriers and grew in every way. Most importantly, spring training taught me to fall in love with the process. Many times, I thought of giving up; I questioned if it was worth it, but one of coach Brown’s sayings echoed in my head, “Get after it!” The blood, the bruises, the aches and pains, the criticism, the correction, was all a part of a day’s work, and we did two-a-days! The ability to get back up the next day showed me that I had what it took and when it was all said and done I realized that I was an all-around, better person and player, physically and mentally tougher than ever before. If I had to tell anyone in the same/similar position a word of advice, I’d say this:

Show up, fall in love with the process, and, “Get after it!”
