Hi Umaima, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. 
I am the founder and owner of a cosmetic brand named Unique Cosmetics. My brand is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and inclusivity in the beauty industry. I am also a full-time Remarketing rep for a bank & enrolled in UTA to finish my bachelors degree. While doing that, I am also a Full-time Makeup artist in Dallas area & a beauty influencer; as a beauty influencer, I leverage social media platforms to share my passion for makeup and beauty.

In the bustling city of Dallas, Texas, where trends and styles collided, the idea for Unique cosmetics was born. My journey began with a simple fascination for the transformative power of makeup. As a makeup enthusiast, I spent countless hours experimenting with different products and techniques; driven by a deep passion for self-expression and creativity, I noticed a gap in the market for South Asian women in the makeup industry. This sparked the dream of creating a cosmetic brand that would not only celebrate individuality but also push the boundaries of innovation in the beauty industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Launching a lash brand, like any entrepreneurial endeavor, was a journey marked by both triumphs and challenges. The road to success was far from smooth, but each obstacle became an opportunity for growth and learning.

One of the initial challenges was navigating the competitive landscape of the beauty industry. The market was saturated with established brands and standing out required a unique selling proposition. I had to meticulously define what made my lash brand different – whether it was a focus on cruelty-free materials, innovative designs, or a commitment to inclusivity.

Supply chain issues and production delays were common obstacles. Sourcing quality materials for the lashes and finding reliable manufacturers who could meet demand while maintaining quality standards posed ongoing challenges. Overcoming these hurdles required building strong relationships with suppliers and constantly monitoring and optimizing the production process.

Despite these challenges, the passion for the beauty industry, a commitment to quality, an unwavering belief in the brand’s mission and especially my husband’s support & help propelled the lash brand forward. Each obstacle became an opportunity to refine and strengthen the brand, ultimately contributing to its growth and success.

In the end, the journey of launching a cosmetic brand was a dynamic and rewarding experience, filled with lessons that shaped not only the business but also the resilience and determination required in the competitive world of beauty and cosmetics.

I am proud of creating a community around my brand, fostering engagement, and building a loyal customer base. This community is not only centered around products but also around shared values and a love for self-expression through makeup. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for makeup and the belief that cosmetics are not just products but tools for self-expression and confidence building. We also just launched our new handmade lash collection & currently I am also passionately working on exciting new releases that promise to redefine beauty standards and bring a fresh perspective to the makeup industry.
