Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian and Adrian Odzer.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brian and Adrian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I like to say that my wife and I went from banking to barking. I met my wife Adrian while we were working for corporate banking back in 2010. Feeling stifled by my current position, I somehow convinced her to leave her job to start a dog walking company with me. Dog walking was a very popular service when I lived in NYC and I noticed there was a large need in Dallas. I would see many young professionals walking their dogs throughout the city instead of eating lunch, which solidified my assumption that there was a definite need of this service. At the start, there were not many competitors in this market and industry.
Combined with the increased development of Dallas and how dog friendly this city is, we saw a very sturdy growth every year. Fast-forward to 2017 and we have grown to a customer base of 700+ and 150 – 200 dog walks daily. This growth and success precipitated us to opening our new state-of-the-art daycare and boarding facility in the Dallas Design District in 2018.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth is not a word I would use to describe our journey. Starting out was a struggle as I’m sure it is for every small business owner. We pretty much worked every day of the year for the first 3 years. It wasn’t until our fourth year that we were able to hire some additional help. However, all in all it has been a fun ride. It’s amazing to watch our business evolve from where it started until now. We are truly blessed to have a great staff supporting us and look forward to what the future holds for all of us at Uptown Dog!

Uptown Dog started out in 2010 as a dog walking and pet sitting company in Dallas, Texas. Through our superior customer service and award-winning reputation we have earned our spot as the #1 Dog Walking Company in Dallas. We have taken that knowledge and experience and expanded our operations to include our new state-of-the-art facility, Uptown Dog Daycare & Boarding.
What we are most proud of is our 7,400 square footage of indoor space, personal dog suites, VIP suites, huge indoor play areas, and an additional 2,000 square footage of outdoor play area.
Additionally, our Uptown Dog team members are highly trained and experienced in handling dogs of all breeds and sizes. Our love for animals and our commitment to professionalism are second to none. At Uptown Dog we pride ourselves on being the best at what we do. We continue to strive at meeting the needs of our clients as proven through the numerous services offered including Dog Daycare, Boarding, Grooming, Walking and even Pet Taxi to and from our facility. Our clients speak and we listen!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The sky is the limit for Uptown Dog! We have grown leaps and bounds over the years and look to continue the pattern. Our goal is to have multiple locations open in Dallas-Fort Worth in the next few years and possibly start franchising down the road. While these expectations are lofty, I know with the support of our great customer base anything is possible. All I know is I’m excited to see it!
