Hi Uzma, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have always wanted to start a business that would be beneficial and valued to the community, something that can provide results and a unique experience. Relaxation is something that everyone needs and seek out the most. Therefore, I was on a mission to open a spa that provides an outside experience never before offered in DFW. Before the opening of Maroc Hamam Spa, I traveled around to other countries and spa’s so I can determine what is being offered and what I can bring to the community here in DFW. The spa experience I had in Morocco was so phenomenal, it brings relaxation to an elite level, priotizes health benefits, and the results are stunning, I knew this is the element I wanted to bring to our community.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the initial struggles with opening the business was determining the best layout and procedure that would give customers the experience I wanted them to take away. Brainstorming the structure of the spa itself and communicating that vision to the builders was a struggle that I had to overcome throughout the construction process. The construction of the steam rooms, open shower areas, and individual scrubbing rooms had to be done right to ensure seamless experience, the color tones from paints, to titles, to interior designs were vital elements to create the Hamam atmosphere.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Maroc Hamam Spa, as the name indicates, is a Moroccan-inspired spa retreat that uses traditional Moroccan ingredients for our products and services. We offer three different types of services: Facials, Massages, and Body Scrub. There are, of course, specific selections under each service that clients can choose based on their wants and needs. In addition, the interior of the business is also influenced by the Mediterranean structures: warm tone lighting, free-flowing curtains, and an open lobby with wide seating sofa with plush cushions and traditional texture carpets are thoughtfully arranged to give our customers a seamless Moroccan-themed spa experience.
The experience that is unique to our spa is the Body Scrub Service we offer. While services such as facials and massages are provided by many surrounding businesses, the Hamam Body Scrub service can only be provided by us. The Scrub experience is all-inclusive with a steam room. The products and techniques are all replicating the services offered in Morocco. All of our services, including the scrub, prioritize that our customers are relaxed in body, mind, and soul.
What are your plans for the future?
In the future, we are excited to explore the possibility of franchising Maroc Hamam Spa. This expansion will enable us to share our unique spa experience, rooted in Moroccan traditions, with a broader audience. We envision bringing our indulgent, rejuvenating spa treatments and serene environment to new locations, allowing more people to experience the essence of Moroccan wellness. Our focus will be on maintaining the high quality and authenticity of our services as we grow.
