Today we’d like to introduce you to Valarie Wooten-Mitchell.
Valarie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My interest in the Beauty Industry started in 1987 when I was taught how to sew in hair weave by hand. I later enrolled in Beauty School in 1990 for advance classes in hair weaving.
Long story short I completed My Beauty School Program and graduated. While anxiously awaiting my State Board Exam date I became sick and had to reschedule.
In the mix of that, I was also offered another Gig in Tokyo Japan, this time.
So off to Tokyo I went as a Janet Jackson Impersonator. I traveled back and forth overseas as an Entertainer in the 90’s era. In order to prepare for State Board again.
I would have, had to refresh all that I learned which consists of Theory of Hair, Coloring, Perming, Straighten, Manicure,Pedicure, Scalp Treatment, ETC… When all I wanted to do was Advance Sew in Extensions.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Money and Time wasn’t always on my side.
If I had the money I didn’t have the time.
If I had the time, I didn’t have the money.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
I was introduced to this Magical Cosmetic Beauty Tattooing around 2005/2006…
Called Permanent Makeup… I researched and found out how to enroll in an up and coming workshop… so I did and completed my studies and was certified. Beginning of this year 2019… I was introduced to Microblading I was like wow very interesting, researched and found information on up and coming classes in Dallas Metropolitan Area. Studied and Video my self on Microblading. Took the class and was certified.
What I am most proud of I became part of this Magical Cosmetic Beauty Industry way before Social Media Got the Chance To Make it Global in which is Magnecifient within itself.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memories were always based around Entertainment and Beauty…They go hand and hand….I Love the Stage and I Luv A Mirror… lol
