Meet Vee Michelle of Boosie Vee in Oak cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee Michelle.

Vee, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been intrigued by the beauty and music industry. When I was young elementary/middle school, my friends and I would do our own photoshoots at home or at parks or wherever we could. Making backdrops with blankets and accessories we had laying around at home lol I also always took part in the photography classes at school. I have always been around the hip hop scene since I can remember. Music has always been a huge go-to in my life for comfort and expression. Since I was very young, I was around all aspects of hip hop. One of my brothers was a breakdancer and I loved being at bboy battles (sometimes id even jump in and participate lol) rap battles, live performances, running around with the crew as they bombed, tagged (graffiti) if that’s what they still call it that’s what they called it in my day! Lol, so eventually, both mixed! My love for beauty, fashion, photography & hip hop. I love being able to express all in one! Doing photoshoots and music videos is just something that has always naturally come my way. So I figure when something comes to you so much, it must be for a reason! But I love all aspects of it. Doing make up for others, hair, styling, helping with directing the full art aspect of it.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all!! I never really took any of it seriously because I’m one to put my desires aside for the better of others. I have been through so much in my life, from losing my husband, who I was with for 15 years, to completely starting over with three children in a new city where we had no family or friends, learning to pick myself up over and over when sometimes it seems impossible. However, everything that I have gone through just gives me more motivation and also the want to just be happy and live life doing the things I enjoy and love for myself.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Modeling. Print modeling, videos, beauty, fashion. I also do some behind the scenes make up & hair, etc. I love dipping my hands in all different areas. And plan to expand my talents in many different areas.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I love Dallas! I am very glad I moved here and believe it brings many opportunities. You need to be open to working with many different people and doing all types of jobs but once you’re in, it’s not that hard I don’t think if you are dedicated to what you do. I would recommend doing a lot of networking to put your name and face out there and also don’t be shy! I’ve worked with many different videographers and photographers and management such as Soopa Modelz. I love meeting and working with all the beautiful models.
