Meet Vallejo L

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vallejo L.

Vallejo, before we jump into specific questions about your art, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was an art student attending the University of Central Arkansas that unfortunately dropped out. I had the mindset “just because I didn’t receive my Bachelors doesn’t mean I can’t be a boss” and it pushed me to gain my independence and get my real first hand experiences of being passionately true to something I knew I could excel in, which was Graphic Design, simply being an artist. Having my apartment and bills to pay, I knew I had to do something different, especially with having an on-campus job. I lost access to everything that was floating my boat. I believe it was the next day. I had started posting on my Instagram and Facebook that I had artwork for sale. I kept informing my social network that I had creative quality content, and the people who believed in my 15.00 logos vouched for it. From there, I continued to receive recommendations and references because of the quality of my work, the price, and the turn around time. I began gaining a wave of clientele that showed me that I had made the right decision—being my own boss.

I provide my supporters with 5-star service to show them I appreciate and value their business/project inquires. Also, because I value and respect the business, I uphold for myself.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, not all. There have been times I’ve been like forget this, just because of frustration. Dealing with people not wanting to respect my value because I didn’t have creditable work or not giving free work to people who somehow felt like they were entitled to it were major obstacles. Working before payment was another one. As a creator, time is just as valuable as profit. I can’t afford to work on an unsecured project. A big challenge for me being trendy with the “right now.” I like to do my own thing and be an individual with my creations.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a visual artist specializing in graphic design and photography. I also do videography, pastel painting, sculpture, poetry, and vocal recording. I know most for graphic design these days. I’m most proud of the growth and creativity this far. To be consistent with ideas and production. I feel like my creativity sets me apart. My thought process and ability to visualize conceptual designs is my gift from a celestial realm.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Understand that all money is not good money. And all projects are worth my time and ability to create for.
