Today we’d like to introduce you to Vantonio Fraley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vantonio. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always dreamed about building companies from the ground up, after going to entrepreneurship seminars and learning from mentors. I brought the info back to my peer group and it wasn’t received too well. So I changed my focus to teaching the next generation entrepreneurship. After all, if we want more jobs, we have to create them ourselves, not our government. I was excited after writing it went to leaders in my community just to be pushed off and told it was impossible. I agreed, so I named my program after it. A paradigm shift is a change in the way you view things. I.e., impossible is ImPossible, or I’m possible.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This has been almost four years in action, almost six with planning. I have been told I can’t do it, haven’t had the support from the community, I have had three people take my program, I have run out of money renting places and lost money doing fundraisers, etc.
We’d love to hear more about your organization.
I have my nonprofit ipsctx.org (ImPossible), where we focus on teaching teenagers entrepreneurship, sportsmanship and life skills. I also have B.G.O.P (Be Great On Purpose), I just recently trademarked it in February, under this brand we a have impact speakers and motivational apparel. Along with our apparel, we also create presentations and workbooks that lead to having an impact along with motivation.
What sets our brand and company apart is that we encourage and help people navigate from where they are to where they want to be. What I’m most proud of with the work we have done is the people we have impacted and continuing to see them using tools to better themselves. I’m personally proud to see that I can have a vision in my head and bring it to life, and not only does that vision help me but helps others. I’m a servant that’s bout his father’s business. Seeing my vision in work helping others make me feel like I’m walking in my purpose.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing because everything was necessary. Some of the negative things served a great purpose as far as lesson I needed and other things required me to find my personal strength even if it’s just to say have the personal strength to say NO.
