Today we’d like to introduce you to Vella Cay.
Vella, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help people. When I was younger, I didn’t necessarily know what that looked like, but as I got older my gift for empowerment became apparent to me. I really love to encourage people to be the best they can be in Christ. So, every morning I post faith based motivational videos on my social media platforms about different things in life to get people started on their day. From doing that, it lead me to create a faith based t-shirt and apparel company called VellaCay Clothing. I wanted to turn my words into a product that people can physically take with them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Defiantly not! Although I am a new business owner, my journey has been far from perfect. There have been numerous trials along the way, from finding the perfect graphic designers to strategizing the best marketing plan. None of it is easy and it takes a lot of your time.
One of the greatest things I’ve learned is that nothing worth having is going to come easy. Empowering people is my main focus, so any trial I go through will be worth it for the sake of helping someone along the way. Also, there is beauty in having something you can call your own and that you can pass down to your children. So I’m willing to work as hard as I can to achieve success.

Every clothing item apart of VellaCay Clothing is designed to show people the positive side of life. We only create t-shirt designs that remind people to speak and think positively about themselves. So much so, our slogan is “Wear it THEN Believe it.” Our main focus is to remind people who they are and to show them the positive side to life. We believe that this is what sets us apart from any other t-shirt company. It’s more than just wearing a t-shirt to us. It’s about encouraging the individual wearing the t-shirt.
I would say I am most proud of just having a business that creates a positive place for people to rely on. Whenever you come to visit our website or any of our social media platforms, I guarantee that you will leave uplifted and encouraged.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I plan on expanding my business by offering more clothing items for people. I would love to make VellaCay Clothing a one-stop shop for all your clothing needs.
