Meet Veronica Marin of The Novice Ve

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Marin.

Veronica, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I was a small child, I have loved nature and animals and recreating them in abstracted forms. As I grew older, I realized my true passion was sharing my experiences with the world in new and unique ways. Through this passion, I’ve discovered fluid art. Fluid art not only allows me to reinterpret what I see in this world in unique ways but also to share my emotions and passions in colorful artful ways with my fellow human beings. My whole life I knew I was meant to be in creative artistic fields, expressing myself. Through these passions and starting The Novice Ve, I realized that I can and I will continue to learn, challenge myself, try new things and continuously interpret them through art pieces so that others can to see the world through my novice eyes.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest challenge so far has been selling my first piece of art. It was special to me because it embodied the emotions I was holding at this point in my life. I was going through a personal struggle and my emotions felt like an empty water bottle on a very long walk. You can’t just throw it down anywhere you must hold this empty water bottle, exhausted. The empty water bottle a constant reminder of the pain bogging me down; all of these emotions flowed through me onto my first set of canvasses. With the momentum of this first artistic flow, I was inspired to share them and connect with people.

The first piece sold off of my personal Instagram (@itsme_ve) in minutes, afterward, people wanted to see more and wanted a chance to buy one. Not even a week later I had custom orders and by the end of the month, I needed to make an Instagram dedicated to my art! (@thenoviceve) My ongoing struggle is continuing to push through boundaries and barriers of exposing my most raw emotions, to share new ideas and new techniques, to stand at art shows in a booth full of my pieces that expose my inner self and to talk to people about them. Sometimes I wish all I had to do was paint and someone else would do the rest but, I am constantly learning and evolving past these struggles to grow with my art and my business falling more in love with the process everyday.

Please tell us about The Novice Ves.
I am an artist what I do and specialize in is ever-changing, as I learn more and experience more. Something I’m most proud of is I donate 10% of my profits to different charities. I was changing which one every month but I’m currently saving it all right now as I search for one or two organizations that I want to donate to partner with.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t truly believe in luck, I can’t attribute any of my success to being lucky. I do, however, believe I am incredibly blessed and much of this blessing comes from the idea that whatever you put into this universe will come back to you. I’m only 19 and I know if I continue to put in long hours of hard work and pour my being into The Novice Ve that I will be in awe of where I’m at when I’m 29.
