Meet Victoria Gonzales

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Gonzales.

Victoria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I was a child, my father would take us all on a family road trip to Mexico every summer. We would visit family but most importantly he would take us to a new city every summer so that we could learn the differences within the Mexican culture. My love for traveling began to grow at that point. In college I took advantage of studying abroad for a summer in Spain, there I discovered that traveling abroad is easier then it seems and that it doesn’t have to be expensive. I worked at a sales job in Dallas and recently in the past year and a half, I quit my job to continue traveling for a commercial airline as a Flight Attendant. I have taken this opportunity to share my experiences with people.

I want to inspire people to travel more and to realize that there’s more to traveling beside a nice resort and nice restaurants. I want to share the experiences, the people, the culture, this beautiful earth, and how impactful it can be to step out of your comfort zone. I began my blog two years back but since traveling more often, I’ve used my blog as a platform where I share my travel itineraries. I share what to do, the major tourist and non-tourist areas, who to contact, where to stay, and even the places to get those best instagrammable photos! Let’s be honest, we all love to post that perfect travel photo from our trip!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am still learning so much about having a successful blog. How much to write, how little to write, do I make one post on the location or should I break it up? You find what appeals most to your audience and you stick to that. I always ask for feedback when I finish a blog because I want to know what I should keep and what I should change. Keeping up with the algorithms of Instagram has been challenging, but I have learned to not only rely on Instagram to promote my blog and have begun to use Pinterest and other platforms as well.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My blog is focused on Traveling. I use this platform to give people my itinerary of the places I visit. Almost like planning their trip, without really planning their trip. My blog focuses on my own research that I do, nothing is sponsored and I do this to make it a little easier for anyone who wants to visit those locations. I know that planning a trip can be overwhelming and visiting a new country can be a little scary, it doesn’t have to be! When I plan my trip, I plan it like I’ll never come back, so if that is the case, I jam as much as I can in the X amount of days that I will be there. Some people I’ve helped don’t stay as long as I did and some stay longer, but I’m open to tweaking the itinerary for them! My blog is more of a hobby to me, it’s something I enjoy to do. One of my favorite things I love the most is getting photos from people that went to the same place I visited! It’s so cool to see others enjoy their trips and even take similar photos as mine!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is doing something that you are passionate about. When people do what they love, they continue to find a desire to grow in that field. When you’ve found success you’ve found a way to influence others in a positive way. Success includes helping others when you have a way in influencing and helping people in a positive way you have reached success. I want to be able to continue to impact other peoples life in a way that will change their life forever. Whether it be through my social media platforms, influencing someone to take their dream vacation, friends, family, and strangers. We live in an era where social media plays a huge role in our everyday life and we should use it to share success stories and empower those around us to continue succeeding.
