Vidya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Setting the craft of makeup and hairstyling in its own classic and unique ways, I work to create looks that are pretty, clean, and glamorous! My goals are to educate women to create their own beauty journey: to feel beautiful, to be confident, and to not be overwhelmed by the millions of beauty products out there. My passion and attention to a sense of detail and style I create looks for each client unique to what they desire but with the professional twist. My craft is my own, yet I do always stay up to date with the latest in the world of Beauty.
Dallas, TX is my home; and I travel anywhere my clients’ desire. From destination weddings to in town events; I have you covered. Red Lotus Artistry’s motto is to take Bride’s Beauty related stress off their shoulders to ours. Bride’s love not having to worry about anything, because I am here for them every step of the way. I believe it is more than just going to the clients’ venue and do only their hair and makeup and leave. I become a part of the clients day by making sure their jewelry is on straight, shoes are on comfortably, and much more. Makeup artistry and hairstyling has been one of her first and foremost artistic addictions in life since the age of Four.
I found my Aunt’s treasure, a pot of gold makeup stashes and I never looked back. Since then I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of happy clients, friends and family members. I am thrilled with the opportunities that have come my way since making the decision to make a business out of my passion and looks forward to an endless amount of experiences in the future. I am triple certified in Bridal Hair Design, Makeup Artistry, and Styling; along with a Master Certification for full face Airbrush Makeup Artistry.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Red Lotus Artistry was founded in 2014, two years after I moved to Dallas from Los Angeles. Was it smooth, absolutely not. I merely started this company to first meet new people and engage in the community. Being the bubbly person that I am and working a 9 to 5 job, that was not my passion, I felt like I was drowning. Except on the weekends, when I would go from client to client getting them ready for their big events, weddings, birthday parties I felt alive; it felt great!
One evening I was getting my aunt ready for a very special surprise 40’th birthday party, and my Uncle walked in (someone who has been watching my passion and love for beauty grows since I was 4 years old), and simply asked, ” Why don’t you turn this into a business Vidya? You have been doing this for so long, you are great at it so GO, turn it into a full-blown business!”
That evening was the moment I never looked back. I did endless days and weeks worth of research, I found the best educators, I ordered 50% of my new and upgraded products. I went to Las Vegas, back to Los Angeles, to Vancouver to learn from the best and to enhance my kit even more with the best products.
Now what? I had all the tools, I had the skills, I had the knowledge! But, I also still had my 9 to 5 job, could not afford to just quit. So I vowed to work my tail off to be able to quit that job. So, I dived into marketing, Social Media certifications, gain as much knowledge as I could about marketing Red Lotus Artistry, all while working 50-70 hour weeks.
I began my marketing, I worked, I conquered and in Fall 2017 I was finally able to quit my 9 to 5 to pursue my dreams, my goals, and MY passion. This industry is pretty cut throat and the competition is there, it is always going to be there. But, I know my vision, my motto, my customer service will shine and rise to the top on a smile at a time.

Just A Little Bit About Red Lotus Artistry Services:
Our pricing is catered to our clients’ needs and wants of their dream wedding. So with that in mind, I have created an All-Inclusive package for all my brides.
All-Inclusive Package Includes:
– Bridal Trial
– Bridal Consultation (where we meet 2 weeks prior to the wedding to make sure their vision is still the same as what we created during the trial. I will pick up your jewelry, accessories, beauty accessories, veil so they do not need to worry about forgetting it a day of the wedding)
– Travel within DFW area
– Wedding Day Makeup Artistry and Hair Design
– Weekly Beauty reminders leading up to the wedding (such as at 6-week mark to increase their intake of water, 3-week mark reminder that that is absolute last week to get a facial because they do not want to wait too close to the wedding).
I always come equipped with jewelry repair kit with links and clasps (in case anything breaks day of), and extra earring backs, and a mini pharmacy kit just in case anything were to arise. Depending on my clients budget and the number of people they decide to book, Red Lotus Artistry will be there for the entire bridal party and family.
This in itself is what sets me apart from other companies.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck, I can not say that luck, good or bad, has played in my life and business. However, I can say that occurrences good and bad have happened to get where I am today. You know that saying, there always is a light at the end of the tunnel. Well, let’s just say I have gone through numerous tunnels. These occurrences are like Highways that intertwine and intersect and loop around and go East, South, North, and West. But, they all help you get to your destination.
I am thankful I went through many ups and downs in life, beginning with a divorce, then an International relationship (an Aussie guy, who I am happily married to for 5 years now), then living the single yet married life in a new city for 2 years. I mean they all lead me to the great good in my life currently. I am blessed and incredibly happy to be on this roller coaster called life!
