Meet Wanda La Russa

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Wanda La Russa.

Wanda La Russa

Hi Wanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a dynamic Women’s Positivity Speaker and Coach with a larger-than-life, charismatic personality. Over the past 20 years, I have wholeheartedly dedicated myself to uplifting women of all ages. Through teaching, inspiring, motivating, and empowering, I’ve helped them enrich their well-being, enhance personal relationships, and excel in their professional lives.

While I initially enjoyed teaching elementary school, I soon recognized my entrepreneurial spirit. This realization led me to transition from being a schoolteacher to joining the direct sales industry. As an independent consultant, I achieved remarkable success, leading nationwide teams and consistently achieving top sales. My team-building skills were acknowledged through awards.

Due to my effective leadership, I was invited to train at team meetings, district gatherings, and regional conferences. Additionally, event directors and meeting planners sought me out to speak to diverse groups of girls and women at retreats, sales training, community events, and corporate functions.

As I navigated my path toward personal and professional fulfillment, I leveraged my education, training skills, and positive outlook across various endeavors. Ultimately, these experiences inspired me to transition away from direct sales and launch my speaking business.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Once recognized as a distinguished speaker in Northern California, my move to the DFW Metroplex in 2018 presented a new challenge: I was a fresh face in the community. Recognizing the critical role of marketing in establishing my speaking career locally, I dove into the networking scene, attending events and mixers frequented by professionals.

In my interactions, I posed key questions: Is your team seeking an engaging speaker? Someone who captivates and adds substantial value to your events? For those who responded affirmatively, I offered the opportunity to experience my unique combination of entertainment and insight at their next gathering. For the rest, I inquired about their connections, hoping they might introduce me to potential collaborators.

The journey to recognition was gradual, but persistence paid off. Event organizers began reaching out, filling my schedule with a variety of engagements. I’ve proudly taken on roles as a Keynote Speaker, Master of Ceremonies, podcast guest, and workshop leader.

The adage holds true: Silence won’t help you thrive!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a dedicated advocate for women’s empowerment, I specialize in delivering transformative talks and coaching sessions. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies focusing on Human Development from California State University, East Bay. My passion for personal growth has led me to delve deeply into subjects such as self-improvement, the intricacies of human interaction, mental well-being, relationship building, and cultivating a positive mindset.

Hailing from the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area, I harness my rich understanding of diversity and cultural variety to craft captivating and inclusive presentations. My distinctive approach lies in the interactive nature of my sessions, ensuring that I engage with participants rather than merely speaking to them. Attendees are captivated by my energetic delivery and equipped with practical insights to enhance their personal and professional lives.

What matters most to you?
Mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” This is my favorite quote and holds a special place in my heart. Its significance lies in its powerful message of finding personal enlightenment through the act of giving and kindness. It implies that our truest sense of self and purpose is unveiled when we commit to aiding those around us.

This tenet is a reflection of Gandhi’s enduring values of peace, empathy, and the transformative power of individual deeds. These inspiring words propel us to transcend our personal ambitions and embrace a life enriched by the happiness and prosperity of others. The enduring wisdom of this quote lies in its call for us to evolve from a narrow focus on the self to an expansive, all-embracing outlook on humanity.
