Meet Wesley Roberts of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Roberts.

Hi Wesley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My 1st official time touching the stage on my journey to becoming the worlds funniest comedian was January 29th 2021 at the Niaps Spain showcase, but my whole life I was always told by mentors, adults, family and peers that purpose in life was to entertain people but like everyone else’s in the world I ran from it for so long because I truly didn’t know how to go about being a professional funny guy when I been doing it my whole life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it has not been smooth sailing, but the progression has been steady. I face everyday obstacles of being motivated and unmotivated. There is times where you sit back and say to yourself I’m actually doing what I said I’m doing you feel on top of the world then there’s day when it seems like all your efforts have gotten you nowhere, and this when trusting the process come in full effect.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional comedian, who specializes in making people laugh in all aspects of comedy. I am known for my hilarious sets at the Arlington improv and viral videos on Instagram. Lil known fact
The video of the dude jigging in a oversized Dallas Cowboys jersey is me, even tho that is a video that people post all the time, I am most proud of all my work and the ability to make people laugh. I feel like what sets me apart is my love for my profession and understanding what the people want and what is true to myself to be able to still enjoy making the masses laugh.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk will always be better than regret, and honestly I feel like the experience of failure or success, will always beat the feeling of “would’ve/could’ve/should’ve” I can live with the fact I tried something and didn’t work or I was successful but I can’t live with the fact that the opportunity sits in my brain and all the scenarios keep playing out in my head.
