Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Couch.
Whitney, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up watching my aunt make cakes when I was little. As I got older, she started making little cakes for me to decorate along with her. When I got into high school, I really found a love for baking and decided it was what I wanted to do. I went to Johnson and Wales University in Denver, CO and received an associates in baking and pastries and a bachelors in Food Service Management. After graduation, my husband and I got married and moved here to Fort Worth. I worked at the Worthington Hotel in the pastry kitchen for about a year when I realized, how much I missed making wedding cakes and decided it was time to start Calling All Cakes. Ten years later and I still love my job more than ever!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc, – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been so blessed with such wonderful brides and venues that has made this a fun and smooth ride!

Calling All Cakes specializes in wedding cakes and large party cakes. I pride myself on giving my business a very personal feel. All of my consultations are one on one with the bride and they will always meet with me. I try my best to be accommodating and give each cake the time it deserves. I like to keep a simple pricing model and not nickle and dime my brides. I want them to have the best tasting and beautiful cake without busting the budget.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I hope to expand and open up a store front in the North Fort Worth area.
