Hi Whitney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m 1/16 Cherokee and was raised by a mother who taught me to heal through food, sun, and spring water. Despite a traumatic childhood, I was drawn early to the idea of helping others heal. I studied Pre-Med and Economics Honors with Alfred Lorn Norman II, at UT Austin and began in surgical medicine as an operating room tech but soon realized true healing comes from lifestyle, not procedures.
My journey took me from molecular anti-aging science to ancient healing, working with top global brands and learning from both modern doctors and traditional healers. A pivotal moment came when I witnessed Ayurvedic medicine help a friend’s brother with MS. It reconnected me to the truth I had always known: the body heals itself when aligned with nature’s rhythms.
In 2018, I founded Hotel RITUAL—a healing sanctuary offering our version of Ayurvedic detox ( or Panchakarma), natural therapies, and holistic experiences rooted in vibration, nutrition, breath, and nature. At RITUAL, we honor ancient wisdom and modern science to help people detox, rebalance, and reconnect to their innate vitality.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
RITUAL: A Sanctuary for Self-Love and Healing
Located in Jacksonville, Texas, nestled in the Piney Woods, RITUAL is a healing sanctuary born from a personal journey of transformation.
In 2014, I started offering healing foods and detoxifying treatments from my home to friends and family, inspired by ancient Ayurvedic wisdom shared by Dr. Kuhlreet Chaudhary and her husband my teacher Joshua Barr. This led to the creation of RITUAL Luncheonette + Wellness Studio in 2016, where we combined healing foods and therapies to overcome anxiety, depression, insomnia, acid reflux, chronic pain and weight gain as well as detoxify.
Despite challenges like a devastating fire, personal loss, and depression, I continued healing through Ayurveda, sound therapy, prayer or mantra, and lymphatic massage.
With the help of experts and ancient texts, I developed the Super Human Transformation, a modern detox ritual based on the ancient Ayurvedic practice of panchakarma, making royal healing traditions accessible and affordable.
In 2023, RITUAL Laboratorium + Soda Fountain of Youth—opened across the street from RITUAL-an alchemical space blending joyful sensory experiences with ancient natural medicine.
Today, Hotel RITUAL offers treatments, stays, and products, designed to detoxify the body and mind, raising vibration and restoring joy.

After 30 years working with top experts in anti-aging molecular science, I’ve learned the human body is a temple that needs daily detoxification to function at its best. Our health depends on how well we process what we absorb each day. While we prioritize vacations, we often neglect self-love rituals that keep us tuned to the frequency of joy—the true source of healing.

I am now studying ancient Vedic astrology, under one of the world’s foremost Vedic Astrologers, David Hawthorne and his daughter Sara has joined our team and will be taking over his practice as he is retiring. We are overjoyed to be able to provide Vedic birth charts, rituals and remedies to help people navigate their charts and the pitfalls of life. This has previously only been available to royals in the past. There are approximately 800-1000 Vedic astrologers in the world. They use a scientific paradigm to chart the two hour window of your birth and what the planets, moon, sun, and stars where doing at the time you were born. It is not a horoscope and if any one of these expert Vedic astrologers were to read your chart they would all say the same exact thing. This is why we use a scientific paradigm.
Think of Vedic Astrology as God’s manuscript for mankind. After incurring so many traumas earlier in life, and since the founding RITUAL, I kept asking questions about how all of these wild events, patterns and cycles kept continuing in my life. My teacher recommended getting my Vedic birth chart done so I would be able to link my life more closely with the rhythms of the Universe and better understand my unique path. I was absolutely shocked to find that in my birth chart, I am doing exactly as called to do, however I am learning how to navigate the pitfalls of that calling.
Ancient RITUALS have saved my life in this order: Prayer and my connection to the Divine, breath, spring water, daily abahyanga, communing with nature daily, praying on my knees or head to ground, editing the processed ‘everything’ from my daily life…and the list goes on because it’s a lifestyle shift to communing with the Divine in every moment. I am blessed to live my dream of guiding people to a joyful lives.
RITUAL is more than a brand — it’s a movement. A return to sacred self-love. A reminder that joy is measurable, that food is medicine, and that healing is our birthright.
