Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Zee’ Tidwell.
Will Zee’, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Long before I was SpeakUPZee, I was a 17-year-old kid whose real first love was basketball and I truly believed that my life would be surrounded with that. But, then LIFE happened. I actually found my purpose after going through one of the hardest times of my life. In the year 2014, both my mother and I became homeless after some serious family complications, and basketball along with everything else was taken away from me!
I had to find a way to cope with what I was dealing with at that time in my life, and I remembered recently in high school I had joined the local Poetry Club and I started to remember how much I enjoyed writing and speaking! So, I started to write about my experiences and started to SpeakUP and share my story with the world — and they loved it! And, that same feeling I would get after having a good basketball game I would get that same feeling after I would share my work with someone times ten! And, when I would share my work with ones I realized that not only was my work helping me cope with my situation but I was helping, inspiring, uplifting and encouraging so many other people. That’s what it was all about for me! I found my purpose and there is no better feeling than that.
And, when it comes to the community outreach sector of my company, my inspiration for that is very simple. No one should have to struggle, go without, wonder where their next meal is going to come from or wonder when they’re going to be able to take a fresh shower. I wanted to be that reassurance for my people! I remember how bad it feels to be without and I promised myself that one day that my mother, myself or anyone else would ever feel that way ever again!
I named my business SpeakUPZee, because I believe we all have a “story” in the world and it is apart of my duty to use my story not only as an inspiration to myself but for everyone else to see the beauty in their own struggles, their own story, and use their own to inspire and change the world. SpeakUP, tell your story!
Has it been a smooth road?
NO! This entrepreneur lifestyle is completely different! There have been times when I still don’t know where my next meal, paycheck, or opportunity would come from and that can be scary! There have been times where ones have doubted me and it is usually the ones closest to me and that can almost make you doubt yourself if you’re not careful.
There have been times where you may expect for things to go a certain way just to watch them all fall apart, and you can fail so bad to the point you want to give up and I believe if you don’t have a deep enough reason behind why you do what you do you will quit!
I have been doubted, given up on, talked about, made fun of, and I have failed terribly but through it all, I love the hustle. I love the losses because they teach the best lessons and I believe those are what help us grow. So, no it has been smooth but it has been worth it.

SpeakUPZee, LLC is a platform that consists of motivational speaking, creative writing and community outreach services for all. And, we use these platforms to inspire, uplift and encourage and they all go hand in hand. I believe I am best known for my speaking but some of my greatest motivations for my content come from my writings and the things I experience when we are serving our community.
I am most proud that I am one of the youngest and very few doing the work that I do because I have always big on what I can do for my company that can set us apart and make us stand out and that has always been the goal.
And I wholeheartedly believe that way of thinking alone is what sets us apart! The fact that we aren’t afraid to be ourselves, and be different in a world where it seems like everyone is afraid to be themselves, so they pretend to be something or someone that they aren’t. That alone is what sets apart among many other things and soon the world will see our uniqueness and gift to the world.
How do you, personally, define success? What’s your criteria, the markers you’re looking out for, etc?
Success? I believe everybody has a calling, gift, purpose in this world and I believe true success is first believing that you do possess something special within and then spending the rest of your life finding out what it is and once you find it — walk in that purpose for the rest of your life. Because, when you walk in that purpose the typical things that people use to measure success such as money, will come but when you find your purpose that is what brings true happiness and fulfillment.
