Today we’d like to introduce you to Winter Breeze.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Winter. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Four years ago I leaped a faith and decided to start my own business. My mother, Sandra Gates was my biggest inspiration. I was very skeptical about going into the romance industry, but she encouraged me that there was a great need for it. She was right. I have met some amazing people on this journey and connect with people from all walks of life. I used my home-based business as a platform for many of my other endeavors. Although most people know me as being a senior consultant with pure romance, I am also a business consultant and coach for small businesses as well. Six months after I started my business I had to have surgery and knowing that I had a responsibility to my customers it what kept me going. I will be celebrating my 4th anniversary with the company on December 16, 2019. I also have a team and it keeps continuing to grow. My next goal is to be an associate director of the company in 2020.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is always hard. In the beginning, getting support from friends and family was extremely difficult. I am originally from Oklahoma City and there were not many people doing this type of business here at that time in 2015. I reached out to several friends that I had in Dallas and they started booking in-home parties immediately with me and the response has been great since then. My advice to all entrepreneurs is to have your customer base. Talk to any and everybody about your business, that way your name stays top of mind when someone has a need.
Tell us more about the business.
I have several businesses now. Four years ago I only had one and a dream to own many. First, I own my own pure romance business. It is an in-home party based company for everything from bath and body to bedroom accessories. I am also the proud owner of plus-size lingerie called Body Kiss. You can shop online anytime at those my websites are www.pureromance.com/winterbreeze and www.bodykiss.shop, Other things I specialize in… small business consulting, business coaching, public speaking, hosting/mc, and I am also a blogger/influencer. I work primarily with Influenster. My blog is www.lipsticknlebronze.weebly.com. I write about products I’ve tested, dating, great food, traveling and more.
What I’m most proud of is my customer base. I grew it from nothing. My customer always tells me my customer service is what sets me apart from many other reps that they have worked with.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Five to ten years from now I can see my pure romance business still thriving. They are all sell maintained mostly. The only difference is that I plan to move up to being a director of the company by then. I’m praying that it doesn’t take that long. As far as my lingerie business I can see us having an actual brick and mortar boutique by then. I plan on adding clothing and swimwear by 2020.
My consulting business will still be maintained, but I will be more focused on real estate over the next five years more than anything and business/leadership coaching as well. I would like to do more motivational speaking and possibly become a life coach.
