Meet Xochitl Roman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xochitl Roman.

Xochitl, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After moving away from my family and friends in Baton Rouge to start my full-time job in Dallas (August 2018), I hit rock bottom. I was struggling with my self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, depression, lacked purpose, ambition, and felt unfulfilled with myself and life. I was always an active person before, involved in sports and went to the gym regularly until I started working full-time. I let my job take over my life and struggled with having the energy to do anything else before/after work. I spent months feeling stuck and trapped living a life I didn’t enjoy, until I decided I was tired of feeling miserable and decided I needed to make a change in my life and in myself. So I started to make time for myself again, researching ways to conquer depression, and that led me back to focusing on my healthy & fitness journey. I started doing yoga and then started to go to the gym. This helped a lot, but I was still missing fulfillment. Then one day I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw a help wanted ad looking for women who were working on their health & fitness journey and were looking for something else in life, including a community of women supporting each other. I was in an info session where all the details about this business opportunity were shared with me and that led me to starting my business as a health & fitness coach.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it has not been. I am still working my full-time job so I work my business in the pockets of time I have throughout the week and on the weekends. I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of things to work my business in the little time that I do have.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a virtual health and fitness coach. I run my business online by reaching out who may be looking to make a change to a health lifestyle or those looking for financial freedom. The company I work with Beachbody, provides the workout programs (over 75 programs) that are all different types of training to help as many people and they all come with a nutrition guide. We also have several supplements, workout gear, a blog with loads of information, and hundreds of recipes. As a coach I provide motivation, inspiration, accountability, support, recipes, tips & tricks, workouts, and ultimately share my story and my life in hopes of relating to others and helping others change their mindset, body, and life. What sets me apart is my story, the things in my life, the content that I share. I’m someone who’s been depressed, and dealt with anxiety so I share that and how I battle through it a long with sharing my dogs, family, friends, traveling, the corporate world, and everything that makes me who I am.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So far that has been being invited to a paid trip to California for a weekend with the top coaches on my team. My mentor invited me because she sees that I’m working this business and have been showing up even through the hard times.
