Meet Y Jacqueline Mayse of Southwest Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Y Jacqueline Mayse.

Hi Y Jacqueline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started as a hands-on maker long before I ever called myself a marketer or strategist. I fell in love with soap and skincare formulation back in 2008, experimenting with ingredients, scents, and designs until I eventually turned that passion into a handmade artisan brand selling at local markets and boutiques in the DFW area. Over time, I realized I was just as obsessed with the *business* side as I was with the products—branding, visuals, storytelling, and figuring out how to actually get customers to discover and fall in love with indie brands.

Other makers and small business owners began asking me how I was doing my photos, my social media, and my launches, so I started helping behind the scenes with their content and strategy. That demand organically grew into what is now Divine Touch Media, where I focus on digital marketing strategy, content, and brand development for indie brands, artisans, and solopreneurs. Today, I blend my maker experience with advanced tools like AI, content systems, and storytelling frameworks to help other creatives do what I had to figure out the hard way—build a brand that feels true to them and is actually sustainable, not just a pretty hobby.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all—my hardest season was during the pandemic because I could feel the world shifting toward online business, but I didn’t have the money or the tech setup to pivot the way I needed to. I was so used to face-to-face sales and community connection, and suddenly that “normal” path wasn’t available, and it felt like every door I knocked on stayed closed while other people seemed to be thriving.

There were moments I truly considered quitting. But my faith is my foundation, and I believe in GOD so even when it didn’t look like progress, I kept going. I kept creating and kept making product, even if it was only selling to friends here and there, because that’s who I am at my core.

One of the biggest challenges was the mental side of the transitions stepping out of my comfort zone and trusting that I could build a real online presence. I even had someone tell me there was no value in trying to sell my products online and that I should just go back to markets, but that wasn’t an option for me, so I had to bet on myself, learn as I went, and build an alternative plan.

That season ended up becoming a pivot point: it pushed me to stop hiding, start showing up online, and start developing the skills and systems that now help me not only grow my own brand, but guide other business owners too especially the ones who feel behind on tech and overwhelmed by the digital side of growth

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Divine Touch Media is my digital marketing and visibility studio based in Dallas, and I help established creative brands especially Gen X and Boomer small business owners get seen and heard online without feeling like they need a tech degree. I specialize in practical strategy and content that sounds like you, not generic, cookie-cutter marketing.

What I’m known for is bridging the gap between creativity and clarity: I help business owners clarify their message, identify their brand voice, and turn that into consistent content people actually understand and respond to. I also bring a “maker’s brain” to the work, because I have a long background as an artisan myself so I understand what it’s like to run a handmade business while juggling inventory, production, and customer expectations.

What sets me apart is my process and my approach. I start with brand archetype discovery to dial in voice and audience. I build a personalized social media strategy and content plan, and after that I can support with creating/posting content and tracking what’s working so it’s not just ideas, it’s execution. I’m also proud that I don’t chase trends or lean on mass-produced AI content; I use tools responsibly, but everything begins with your unique voice and a strategy that fits your goals.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the mission: helping people who are brilliant at what they do but overwhelmed by tech show up with confidence and consistency online. I want readers to know that my work is about sustainable visibility: clear messaging, simple systems, and content that connects, so you can grow without burning out or pretending to be someone you’re not.

What’s next?
My future plans are centered on helping more people feel confident in the digital world as AI becomes part of everyday business. I’m building Divine Touch Media LLC with a mix of 1:1 strategy support and digital products, so clients can get help at different levels whether they want hands-on guidance or they prefer to learn and implement at their own pace.

I’m especially excited to create practical digital resources that improve AI literacy across all age groups, because I don’t want technology to become the reason talented people stay stuck or unseen. My goal is to make online visibility feel less intimidating and more doable so business owners can move faster, communicate their value clearly, and grow with confidence.
