Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesenia Salazar.
Yesenia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had the opportunity to start as a lash artist years ago. Eyelash extensions were the new trend and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Like most of us, I had expenses and responsibilities I couldn’t just leave my well-paying job just yet. After that the company didn’t work out, I decided to finally go for it. I knew it was time to work for myself and do something I’m really passionate about. I knew there was more to life than working a 9-6 job. I had nothing holding me back and it was perfect timing. I went to school got licensed and started working with my cousins at Sincerely Lash and Beauty. That was the beginning of my lash career. I’ve always loved the art of lashes and fell more in love with it. I love the way it changes a persons confidence after they wake up with a full set of lashes. The Lash industry has evolved over the years and keeps changing so it’s important for me to keep up with all the new techniques and styles. Being a lash artist takes lots of practice, time and patience. Trying to perfect your art is the goal. I’m so grateful for my cousin, Noemi she has been a great mentor. I have also met so many amazing lash artist and mentors along the way, they have made this journey fun. We all support one another so we can all succeed as lash artists. It’s true what they say, “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely been challenging. When I first started, I had so many doubts and even questioned if this was something I really wanted to do. I would question myself and compared my work to others. Not having a lot of clientele was a big struggle. I knew I had to have an optimistic mind. I know now it takes time to be where you want to be. Failing was definitely not an option for me. I knew I had to keep going. I took many workshops and training and continued to educate myself. I knew I had to continue to work hard every day. It’s hard not to be so hard on yourself but I’m my biggest critic. I have been blessed to have such an awesome support system (my boyfriend, family, and mentors) but ultimately, God! I always trust in him and his timing is always right.

At Sincerely Lash and Beauty, we offer lash extensions, lash lifts + tint, and brow waxing. We have set up our shop to be a relaxing atmosphere with comfortable therapeutic beds and relaxing music. Perfect place to get away and get your much-needed nap. We like to make our clients feel like they have a friend “therapist” (their words not mine) they come in vent after having a stressful day, and they leave with a fresh set of lashes and more relaxed and pampered. Lash extensions are our specialty. We’re able to create a customized look for each of our clients tailored to their face shape and eye shape. Everyone is different! Some clients want different looks, but we have to take their natural lash into consideration. We don’t just apply lashes. It’s about the art of lash artistry! And I’m very proud of that. We pride ourselves in providing healthy and beautiful full sets of lashes. The health of our client’s lashes is our #1 priority. I believe what sets us apart from other places is we truly care about each and every one of our clients. Because of that, we continue to take continuing education to always be up to date on the latest trends and techniques, to provide the best lash service to our clients.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Sincerely Lash and Beauty is located in Allen, Tx. It’s about 20 miles from Dallas, Tx. I have enjoyed working in this area and would recommend it to anyone who is just now starting. The lash industry is booming right now! There’s plenty of room for everyone. The biggest recommendation is to collaborate with other lash artists instead of competing there’s plenty of clients for everyone.
