Meet Tyron Henton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyron Henton.

Tyron, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It’s been a journey overcoming adversity, almost going to jail several times because I didn’t think about the consequences. Money and respect tried to consume the way I lived my life, but God is a healer and the master of restoration! I believe being a Youth Development Coach for the McLennan County Juvenile Justice Facility is a great opportunity to inspire those incarcerated to see life from a different perspective. Everyone has a different way of inspiring and helping others, mines just happen to be troubled teens. I pray that God gives me all of the tools necessary to complete this task. I long to set an example for others to follow their dreams and never give up!

Has it been a smooth road?
Hanging around the wrong people can really deter your path to success. They may not have your best interest at heart so whatever happens to you is none of their concern. Inspiration is very important when it comes to following your dreams. You have to be focused and able to see the road clearly.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an overseer of juveniles at the McLennan County Juvenile Detention Center. I am honored to have the opportunity to help those that are less fortunate. I long to let them know that there is hope.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Most definitely, I believe there is always someone somewhere that could use an ear to hear when times are hard.
