Meet Zhchariah Everett of Skin Escape

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zhchariah Everett

Hi Zhchariah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Zee I’m a licensed esthetician in Frisco, TX. I’m originally from San Antionio, TX and the oldest of 4. For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved all things beauty from hair, to makeup, and skincare. In college I majored in sociology with a minor in psychology with aspirations (at the time) to become a therapist. I’ve always enjoyed helping people. After college, I started my career as a social worker in 2019 where I worked for a non profit company that provided case management services to families with children struggling with different mental health issues. While I enjoyed the beautiful families I assisted, I did not enjoy the structure (or lack there of) that came with working for a non profit, government position. When covid hit I started to feel overworked and underpaid so I started to look into pivoting my career. At the time, I was also experiencing the worst skin of my life and desperately wanted to heal it. I would spend hours online looking for products, willing to try anything to feel more comfortable and confident in my skin. Often times when searching online I had a hard time finding skin education and pictures of skin for individuals that looked like me. This left me confused on what the best route to take for my skin specifically would be. One day while scrolling on social media I came across a black owned esthetician school that specialized in multicultural skin and I knew that was where I needed to be to learn how to heal my skin. I started esthetician school in January 2021. I fell in love with learning to better understand and heal my skin. At that time I knew I wanted to make a career out of it to help others. I finished esthetician school November 2021, got licensed December 2021, opened my books up Februrary 2022, & the rest is history. February 2025 will make 3 years in business and I have absolutely enjoyed being able to help so many beautiful people learn to better understand and heal their skin. It makes the long days and nights of entrepreneurship so worth it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. Entrepreneurship is the biggest self development journey I’ve ever experienced. It’s like a mirror is held up to you and all of the characteristics where you fall short are highlighted and you have to make a decision if you’re really willing to put in the work to make your dream a reality. I had to learn to go from just being Zee the esthetician to Zee the CEO & business owner of Skin Escape. I went from working a 9-5 to working 24/7 and had to learn how to put systems in place and provide myself the structure necessary to make my business a business and not just a hobby or side hustle. I had to learn to get comfortable with the ebb and flows of entrepreneurship and learn to become disciplined enough to persevere through the good and bad days. Entrapreneurship is not for the weak lol but it’s so rewarding watching your manifestations become a reality.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Skin Escape is a corrective skincare business that empowers women to better understand and heal their skin so they can feel confident makeup free through professional skincare solutions. I do assist men in healing their skin as well. I am known for my acne and hyperpigmentation facials. Something that sets me apart from others is I also have my nutritionist certification which allows me to be able to help my clients holistically. What we put into our bodies is just as important as what we put on our skin. I help bridge the gap between gut health and skincare to provide clients with a unique healing approach. Something I am proud of brand wise is my exceptional customer service and ability to make intimate connections with all of my clients. When my clients find me they are coming from different walks of life and circumstances but have the common concern of feeling lost and overwhelmed about their skin. I am able to meet my clients where they’re at and provide realistic, personalized skincare solutions catered to their specific skin needs. Skincare isn’t a one-size-fits-all. Our skin is unique and our skincare routine should reflect that. Inegrity, empathy, education, and professionalism are the core values at the forefront of everything I do. Every recommendation provided has my clients best interest at heart. I offer a range of services catered to different skin needs from facials and chemical peels to virtual consultations for clients who are interested in investing in professional skincare but aren’t able to come in for treatment. I would like anyone reading this to know if they are tired of wasting time/money on products that don’t work and are ready to invest in properly healing their skin, I would love to help!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I have always been a hard worker and found it easy to connect to others. I’ve always loved expressing my creativity through art, my hair, & fashion. I use to cut up my mix-match socks and sew them into cute little dresses for my dolls in elementary lol. In high school I was an officer on my dance team and in my late teen years I worked 3 jobs (after school program, serving, and at the bank) just because I liked to have nice things and was gonna find a way to get them. I’ve always known I wanted to work for myself and have my own business so it’s pretty amazing to see that is now my reality. Young Zee would be proud.
