We’re looking forward to introducing you to Michele Williams. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Michele, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely, I would hire me. With more than seven decades of life experience and a deep understanding of what it means to evolve gracefully and confidently, I bring expertise and empathy to every client I serve. As a wardrobe stylist, I don’t just dress women—I help them rediscover the beauty, confidence, and vitality already within them. My clients are often women 60 and over who are navigating new chapters in life, and I know firsthand that style has no expiration date. I combine an eye for design with a heart for empowerment, helping each woman align her outer style with her inner fabulousness. That blend of skill, intuition, and genuine connection is exactly why I would hire myself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I am Michele Williams, a Texas-based stylist and proud brand representative for Cabi Clothing. For over two decades, this women’s fashion company has specialized in thoughtfully curated, direct-to-consumer collections. What drew me to Cabi is their commitment to honoring women’s evolving stories and bodies. It’s about empowering confidence, comfort, and individuality at every age, rather than following fleeting trends. In my role, I partner with clients, especially women 60+, to translate Cabi’s vision into authentic, practical, and stylish wardrobes. I believe fashion is a form of self-expression and am passionate about helping women embrace each new season feeling radiant. Currently, I focus on helping clients reimagine their wardrobes in sustainable, versatile ways, mixing Cabi staples with their existing favorites, so their wardrobes grow with them.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Fashion and design have always been in my DNA. I grew up surrounded by the creative influence of my mother and aunt—both impeccably stylish women and talented interior designers—who taught me from an early age that personal presentation is an art form. During my corporate career, I became acutely aware that how I dressed communicated confidence and capability long before I ever spoke. Compliments on my style soon turned into requests for guidance, leading me to help friends and colleagues refine their wardrobes, pack for travel, and shop with purpose. Each of those experiences awakened something profound in me—a deep sense of power and purpose that came from helping women see themselves in a new, elevated light. That realization gave me the courage to leave the corporate world and launch my own styling business, a leap that has connected me with an extraordinary community of women who continue to inspire me as much as I inspire them.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely—when I first relocated from California to Texas, I faced one of the most challenging seasons in my business. In California, my network and client base had been built through years of personal connections, referrals, and community events. Suddenly, I was starting over in a new state where no one knew me or understood what a wardrobe coach could offer. There were moments when I questioned whether I could rebuild that trust and visibility from the ground up. But rather than giving up, I chose to see it as an opportunity to reinvent and expand my reach. I focused on connecting with women through local groups, social platforms, and virtual styling, which ultimately opened doors to new relationships and growth I never could have imagined. That period taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of staying true to my mission—helping women rediscover their confidence and style at any stage of life.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. The public version of me is very much the real me—just polished with intention. What people see in my work as a wardrobe stylist and brand representative for Cabi is a genuine reflection of who I am: someone who believes deeply in the power of personal style to express confidence, vitality, and self-worth. I show up authentically with my clients, sharing both my professional expertise and my personal journey of reinvention. Whether I’m hosting a styling session, connecting with women at an event, or sharing inspiration online, it’s all grounded in the same truth—I’m a woman who has lived, learned, evolved, and found joy in helping others do the same. My public presence isn’t a performance; it’s a continuation of the work I love and the person I’ve become.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the connection we share as much as the styling itself. Yes, they’d miss the curated looks and the wardrobe magic—but more than that, they’d miss the encouragement, the laughter, and the genuine care that goes into every appointment. My clients often tell me that I help them see themselves differently—more confidently, more beautifully, more them. That transformation goes far beyond clothes. I believe they’d miss having someone in their corner who understands not just what fits their body, but what fits their life, their mood, and their moment. My greatest joy has been reminding women that style is a form of self-celebration, and I think that spirit of empowerment is what they’d miss most.
