Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Renee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey hey! I’m Alisha Renee—and like so many others, I come from humble beginnings. My story starts on the South Side of Chicago, in a big family where love was loud, the food was always seasoned right, and money? Well, money was tight. At nine years old, we relocated to Middle Georgia, and that’s where I really came of age—raised by a powerhouse single mom and taking on the role of big sister to three younger siblings. As the first daughter and the first granddaughter, the pressure to set the standard was real. I walked the straight-and-narrow, followed the rules, stayed on top of my studies—and became the first in my family to graduate college.
Creativity was always my jam. Whether it was art, music, dance, or design—I lived in the fine arts world. My dream school? Columbia College Chicago, where media arts meets business. But that dream came with a price tag my family simply couldn’t afford. So, I pivoted. I enrolled at Valdosta State University, funded by scholarships and student loans, and spent nearly two years undeclared, wrestling with that big, haunting question: What am I meant to do for the rest of my life?
Eventually, I found my path—advertising. I wanted to combine creativity with strategy, so I majored in PR Communications with a minor in Advertising and Promotions. My senior year, I landed a spot in the prestigious MAIP (Multicultural Advertising Internship Program), which opened the door to the ad world through a competitive internship.
But here’s where the story shifts.
I didn’t land a creative role. What I got was media planning. It wasn’t the dream, but it was an opportunity—and I ran with it. I became a media planning intern at a top NYC agency and continued in that field post-grad.
And then reality hit.
That 9-5 I worked so hard to land? It wasn’t it. I realized I was building someone else’s dream, living paycheck to paycheck, and trading my time for money while constantly feeling behind. That’s when the seed was planted: What if there’s another way?
I never saw myself as an entrepreneur. I wasn’t that kid selling lemonade at 10. But I knew one thing—I wanted time freedom, financial freedom, and control over my life. I started researching how people were monetizing online. I saw everyday people, not influencers with massive followings, turning side hustles into six-figure businesses just by learning digital skills.
So I committed. I taught myself how to make money online through affiliate marketing, content creation, and selling digital products. I stopped consuming and started creating. I built a brand that now teaches other 20- and 30-somethings how to do the same.
Because the truth is: the old system is broken. We were taught to go to school, get a job, and work until retirement—but in today’s economy, that’s a recipe for burnout and barely scraping by. Rent’s high. Raises are low. And a single income? That’s not cutting it anymore.
So I help people—especially folks like me—build multiple streams of income online. I offer mentorship and beginner-friendly resources, like step-by-step courses that demystify this space and show you how to get started with little experience and low startup costs.
It’s not just about the money. It’s about the freedom that money unlocks—waking up without an alarm clock, taking your laptop to Bali (or your kitchen table), and knowing you’re building a life on your terms.
My mission is simple: help people realize they’re the captain of their ship. Change doesn’t come without change—and if you’re willing to learn and take action, the life you want is waiting for you on the other side.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like anything worth doing, learning how to monetize online hasn’t been this smooth, shiny, straight path. It’s been bumpy. Messy. Humbling. A few years ago, I actually dipped my toes into online income—I tried Kindle Direct Publishing, even launched a t-shirt line through print-on-demand. But I didn’t stick with it. I wasn’t consistent, and if I’m being real, I let the fear of failing stop me before I even gave myself a real shot.
I was chasing instant results. And when I didn’t get them? I’d quit. I let that little voice in my head win—the one whispering, “What if this doesn’t work out?” I wasn’t in the right mindset. I didn’t believe in myself the way I needed to. Instead of pushing through the setbacks, I saw them as signs to stop. And so I did.
But eventually, I had to face the truth: I was the one standing in my own way.
One day, it just clicked. I realized I’d never move forward if I kept letting fear drive the car. I had to shake that limiting mindset off. I had to stop acting like I wasn’t capable—because deep down, I knew I was. I mean, I’ve always been that girl. I’ve done hard things before—graduated college as a first-gen student, landed internships, built a career from the ground up. I followed the traditional path and made it happen.
So why not this?
The difference with online income is that it’s not something most of us were taught. There’s no roadmap handed to you in school for affiliate marketing, selling digital products, or making money from content. It felt foreign. But once I shifted my mindset—once I committed to learning as I go, being consistent even when it wasn’t glamorous, and embracing growth over perfection—that’s when things started to align.
Now I’ve built multiple online income streams, and I’m still learning every day. But this time, I’m not letting fear lead. I’m leading. And I’m showing others how they can too.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
By day, I’m a media planner navigating the corporate world—but outside of that 9-5, I’m a digital boss building a life on my own terms and showing others how to do the same. I use my platform to teach, inspire, and motivate people—especially those who feel stuck in the traditional path—to become their own bosses through the power of digital marketing.
I’ve walked the walk. I didn’t come from wealth, I didn’t have a blueprint handed to me. I started learning how to monetize online with nothing but my phone, Wi-Fi, and a strong desire for freedom. Now I share that knowledge through beginner-friendly courses, resources, and content that helps people launch their own income streams—from affiliate marketing to selling digital products and beyond.
But what I’m most proud of? The community I’ve built. A growing space of like-minded people who want more out of life—more freedom, more time, more peace. These are people using what they already have (a phone and internet connection) to create income and opportunity for themselves.
What sets me apart in the digital marketing space is simple: I actually care. I don’t just sell courses and disappear. I offer real 1-on-1 calls, answer DMs, and support people whether they’re just starting out or trying to grow what they’ve already built. There’s too much gatekeeping in this industry—people making big promises and then ghosting once the money hits. That’s not me.
I lead with authenticity and integrity, because I genuinely want people to win. I believe there’s room for all of us to thrive online. I didn’t have a mentor or guide when I started, so now I show up as the person I wish I had—transparent, supportive, and committed to helping others succeed.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My go-to tools—the ones that help me show up as my best self in my online business—are Canva, CapCut, and ChatGPT. Canva and CapCut are my creative playgrounds. I use them to design eye-catching visuals, edit content, and bring my brand to life across all platforms. ChatGPT has become my behind-the-scenes assistant—it helps me streamline my ideas, plan content, and automate parts of my business so I can focus more on impact and connection.
And of course, social media is where the magic happens. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are how I connect with my target audience, build community, and turn content into conversations that lead to conversions. These tools aren’t just apps—they’re the engine behind my brand, allowing me to market smarter, not harder.
