Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Fofanah.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Andrea Fofanah, and I am the proud founder of the Dreafit brand. In 2013, I began my journey towards leading a healthy and fit lifestyle, and having seen the results of hard work and dedication; I decided to become a personal trainer to help others achieve their body goals. I started my business not just for the empowerment of women but also for advocating great health and encouraging better health choices, which also attributes to feeling good about yourself while looking good at the same time. As someone who grew up in the DFW metroplex, I’ve always been committed to the fitness world and also surrounded by a great deal of positive fitness-minded individuals., which inspired me to launch the Dreafit apparel line that features comfortable workout clothing, waist trainers, and resistance bands for women. My goal is to make women feel confident in my apparel while trying to achieve their fitness goals.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Dreafit brand is all about women’s empowerment and also encouraging women to live a healthy lifestyle. I believe what sets my merchandise apart from others is that we have non-see-through/ stretchy fabric activewear sets that give you a coke bottle frame. Moreover, a double compressor waist trainer to trim your waist and a non-slip fabric resistance band that helps for Glutes activation. And lastly, the comfortable hoodies and T-shirts. I am most proud of myself; granted, I’ve been faced with a lot of obstacles, and not only being a single mother, but I am still pushing through all the odds while turning my dreams into reality. It hasn’t always been an easy journey. I’ve had days when I felt like giving up; however, my faith in God kept me going. Looking back from where I started and where I’m at now in life definitely shows me that God’s favor is upon me. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is to always put God in the center of everything I do, stay consistent, have patience, and, most importantly, never give up. Starting your own business is not an easy task but always remember the reason why you started. I want the world to embrace and support my brand. Ultimately, God’s Willing will one day become a multinational corporation.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I’ve learned to be consistent and never give up no matter what I’m facing in life. Sometimes you do feel alone and don’t have enough support, but you have to look at the bigger picture. For me, God is My Strength. Whenever I feel unmotivated or discouraged, he always speaks to me. I’ve learned to go to him for guidance and for him to direct me despite my circumstances.
