Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Lewis
Hi Andrew, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started coaching golf full time in 2009 at Castle Hills in Lewisville. In the beginning most of my success was more luck than skill but over time I became a more skilled coach and continued to have good fortune as I started coaching some of the best junior players in the world. Today I am one of the most sought out coaches in the North Texas area seeing clients from all over the state. I recently won the 2024 North Texas PGA Coach of the Year – an honor that was my primary goal when I started coaching in 2009.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In general my journey has been smooth. I’ve had a couple bumps along the way but who hasn’t. My major bumps have always been job transitions. My most recent hurdle was leaving my job in 2022 where I was working for a very high profile coach in the DFW area. I decided that if I wanted to become ‘the man’ I need to stop working for ‘the man’. It’s been the best move I’ve ever made.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a high performance golf coach specializing in coaching competitive clients – mainly competitive youth and college players. I’m known for being holistic in my approach which is what separates me in my field. Most coaches specialize in one area of golf whereas I coach all of the major skills with my players. I’m also know for making improvement quickly. Players come to see me and starting seeing success very quickly.
