Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Vickers.
Hi Anna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been a makeup artist for over 10 years and during 2020 I had lost all of my clients due to covid 19 shutdowns and my husband, being the entrepreneur that he is, suggested that I look into making my own cosmetics! I had all the free time to figure it out! I started with false lashes and then it grew from there! Today, I am still a working makeup artist for special clients and I have even worked with tv professionals and have had my products on major networks like Amazon Prime, Apple TV and CBS. in 2025 I have joined the online boutique platform FashionGo and I sell wholesale to all over the US.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some major struggles would absolutely be that I am also a full time mom and wife. Owning your own business where you have to stay up late talking and working with people overseas can be very exhausting! Also, a big struggle is being told no, and getting turned down from boutiques and spas.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in clean, (mostly) Hypoallergenic, cruelty free products! I have a lot of allergies and I have sensitive skin. I pride myself on how I can still make clean products that aren’t bad for you and still be sparkly and fun to play with! I am able to communicate with my overseas manufacturers to adjust my products to ensure a good, quality product that I can trust!
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have taken major risks by starting my own business without having a large platform to begin with. I was ultimately a “nobody” trying to make something of myself! I pride myself on the fact that I took the leap of faith and started making products I love!
