Hi Ariana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’ve always been creative, whether it was painting, drawing, clay, oil pastels, or sidewalk chalk. I have always found a passion in being creative. I realized makeup was another form of art I could tap into, and I’ve been here ever since. 7 years in and I can say I’ve learned a lot about myself and also the people I service.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting out and building clientele is one of the harder parts of starting a makeup business. I gained majority of clients through friends and family. From there majority of my clients have been through referrals or word of mouth. I’d like to spend more time marketing my business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently an HR Generalist. My job consists of being handed a task and coming up with a solution. Whether it’s information needed, a problem, or guidance, I am that helping hand. I’m known for my drive and determination. I’m most proud of my journey and how far I’ve come. Penetrating the HR realm without experience is a challenge. I feel I’ve climbed the ladder when it’s come to my previous positions. I’ve worked fast food, retail, college bookstore, student aide, and HR internships. I’m very proud of how far I’ve come in my career.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite app is Twitter by far. I enjoy being able to see others’ thoughts in real time on the current issues we are facing. It’s comforting to see others have the same thoughts and stances toward different issues.
