Rising Stars: Meet Ariel Ellzey of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Ellzey.

Hi Ariel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My son, Malcolm Ellzey, was born prematurely at 25 weeks, weighing 1lb, 13oz.

My Mission behind writing and creating Miracle Malcolm was to create a brand that not only showcases our unique story, but binds us and our supporters together under one common goal; & that is to serve. Although we’re all created differently & uniquely- God created us all with purpose & to pour into others & ultimately shine our God given lights to those we encounter.

Since launching in 2019 – it’s been a journey of loving my baby to health, diving into apart of motherhood I never anticipated – learning, re-learning, trial/error, starting and stopping, pivoting, growing, taking losses, failing, mistake after mistake, investments, rebrand after rebrand – But, through it all, God taught me to praise Him & showed me that He used my story for good!

My praise hasn’t always been loud, but GOD’s GRACE & the support from friends, family, & our Miracle Malcolm tribe over the years has truly pushed me back to what God called me to do..

To serve. Share. Be a light. Be a testimony. Inspire. Raise awareness. Speak my truth. Write. Write more. Write again. Keep writing. Use my voice. Draw people to Christ. Be an example. Share my hurt and pain. & do it all over again.

So, here I am in obedience. Paying it forward with our children’s book series & raising awareness on premature births!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It truly has been far from easy. It’s been a constant learning process and one that has brought out my inner warrior. I never knew the strength that God instilled in me until not only becoming a mom for the first time, but becoming one to a premature child that will face challenges along the way. The unbecoming to become process has been transformative for me mentally and physically.

Over the years, I’ve had to grow up mentally while also helping my son grow and caring for my family. I dealt with post-partum depression while being a stay at home mom & if it wasn’t for God nudging me to write and channel that energy in a healthy way, I don’t know where I would be.

Miracle Malcolm was birthed from my pain and hurt of having to watch my baby fight for his life. I’m forever grateful for the positive turn our life and journey took since launching Miracle Malcolm and sharing a bit of us with the world.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a creative writer that has had a love and passion for writing since I was about 10 years old. I would write poetry and light up inside when sharing it with family, friends, & peers.

Aside from writing, I’ve also had the pleasure of reaching success throughout my modeling/brand ambassador career with features on Windy City Live aired on ABC7, JET Magazine, Billboards for Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Primary Ambassador/Model for Jamaican Mango & Lime to name a few.

I’m most know for my work as a model/brand ambassador that started as something fun to do when I was 18 years old and it grew over time to a journey of full dedication and commitment.

God ultimately shifted and transitioned me over the years back to what He truly called me for & that’s to write. Although I can shine my light and bring purpose in the modeling world – I knew my spirit was and is being led to write and show the world more of this side of my creativity while sharing my testimony.

I believe my grit and accountability sets me apart from others. I’m a go hard for it all kind of person that checks myself and owns my flaws along the way with humility and grace. I thank God for that.
