Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Paterick.
Hi Arielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a Southern California native who has proudly called Dallas home for nearly 8 years, becoming a realtor here only seemed natural to me. I fell in love with Dallas upon first visiting and my passion for this job is primarily rooted in my strong affinity for this city, its neighborhoods, and the people. As a Realtor, I’m able to share my excitement for Dallas and utilize my area expertise to help people find the perfect home in a neighborhood they love.
My love for real estate began at a young age when I would tour model homes and attend open houses with my parents as they searched for our next family home. Since then, my interest in homes, market trends, and neighborhoods continued to grow and eventually led me to pursue a career in real estate.
Prior to being a Realtor in Dallas, I spent nearly 15 years in marketing and sales for prominent companies such as the Dallas Market Center, New Balance, and Samsung. I was previously a part-time Realtor in California, but a unique job opportunity brought me back to a marketing role. There are so many aspects about marketing that I love-the creativity, strategy, and fast-paced environment. Pivoting into a career as a realtor allowed me to harmonize these elements with my passion for real estate. The invaluable communication, marketing, and negotiation skills I’ve obtained throughout my career have translated seamlessly into real estate and have greatly contributed to my success thus far.
I made the decision to transition into becoming a full-time Realtor when the pandemic hit and I was part of a corporate layoff. I had already begun taking real estate courses on the side and realized that this was the perfect opportunity for me to fully dive into getting my license. I’m so grateful I took the leap because I’ve met so many incredible people, helped numerous clients find a place to call home in Dallas, and I get to do something I love, in a city I love, every single day.
Today, the momentum for my business continues to grow as a result of my social media and referrals. I credit a good portion of my business to my California roots, especially with the enormous amount of people relocating to Texas. Being a California transplant myself, I have so much fun connecting with people moving here, teaching them about various areas and what each one offers, showing them why Dallas is so special, and helping them find their first place to call home in Dallas.
Whether someone is new to Dallas or has been here for years, I love being able to help navigate what can often be an overwhelming and stressful process for many. I pride myself on helping my clients achieve their real estate goals and dreams by skillfully guiding them through every step of the process so it’s a seamless and enjoyable experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d like to say it’s been a fairly smooth road in terms of being consistently busy and being able to successfully meet my client’s real estate needs, but this business always has its challenges. With the current landscape of the market, I’d definitely say it’s a much smoother road on the selling side than it is on the buying side. Since the pandemic, the market has been nuts! My listings have received multiple offers and go under contract within a week. On the other hand, nearly all of my buyers have had to submit multiple offers before getting one accepted. The process may take a bit longer but I’m always able to get it done and within their timeframe.
As a realtor, you have to get creative because it’s not always the offer with the highest price that gets accepted. I have to do my due diligence and find out what’s important to the sellers so I can craft a strong offer for my clients that stands out from the rest. And, when my buyers’ offers do get accepted, the best part is calling them to share the exciting news.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Realtor with The Freeman Team at Compass, specializing in residential real estate in the greater Dallas area. While I reside in East Dallas, I service the entire metroplex and have helped my clients buy and sell all throughout DFW. This area has so much to offer and has something for everyone, so I love helping people find the city, neighborhood, or pocket that makes them feel most at home.
Aside from being knowledgeable in the market and areas, I’m mostly known for being extraordinarily dedicated to my clients and taking the time to truly get to know them and understand their real estate needs. This also happens to be what I’m most proud of! The process of buying or selling a home often comes with a roller coaster of emotions and I delicately guide and support my clients through all of the ups and downs along the way. Beyond being their real estate agent, I’m also an ally, a cheerleader, a listener, and more. I stand by them every step of the way until their real estate goals are accomplished.
Together, I believe that my immense dedication, passion for helping others, marketing background, and resources set me apart from others. My creativity and tenacity allow me to think outside of the box and provide a more personalized and curated approach to real estate. In addition to the incredible tools and technology that Compass allows me to offer my clients an elevated experience, the combined knowledge and experience within The Freeman team brings added value and resources for my clients.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
With every single transaction, I learn and experience something new. I wouldn’t say this is a lesson I’ve learned, but rather something that I always remind myself during the more stressful times. Real estate is a people business, not a house business. And, while my love for houses is one of the main reasons I got into real estate, helping people is the other reason.
It’s about building and nurturing relationships through trust, honesty, communication, and expertise. If an offer doesn’t get accepted or we hit a speedbump at some point, the first thing that comes to mind is my client and how it will impact them. Instead of stressing out or being reactive, I’m responsive and make adjustments to our game plan to keep us on track. My clients enlist their trust in me and by always being transparent, compassionate, and solutions-oriented, I’m able to provide reassurance and confidence in the process.
