Rising Stars: Meet Audie Burns of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audie Burns

Hi Audie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
During the pandemic, like many, I found myself with an abundance of time and a strong desire to channel my creativity into something meaningful. One issue I’d always faced was finding stylish clothing for men that didn’t break the bank and actually fit well. Not being a fan of most designs out there, I thought, why not create my own? That’s how my clothing line started—born from a personal need and a vision to offer affordable yet fashionable urban wear.

The logo has special meaning, as it’s inspired by a panda teddy bear that’s been in my daughters’ lives since birth. I received it through a charity donation to help save panda bears, adding even more sentiment to the brand. When it came to naming the line, I wanted something that felt both urban and modern, a reflection of the culture I’m creating for.

This blend of personal stories, necessity, and a touch of creativity has led me to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was navigating the clothing brand industry on my own, without any mentors to guide me. I had to do a lot of research by myself, and my very first design was entirely done by hand. Finding the right manufacturers was a struggle too, as I was concerned about being scammed or receiving poor-quality products. Even with my current manufacturers, I still face some limitations with my designs. In the beginning, I also ended up overpaying for some designs and shipping costs, but I view it all as part of the learning curve. Fortunately, things are running more smoothly now, though I’m still focused on improving marketing and finding real brand ambassadors who are committed to growing the brand.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Outside of Drippy Bear Apparel, I’m a science teacher and girls’ basketball coach. What I’m most proud of is my ability to keep moving forward, no matter what challenges come my way. My faith keeps me grounded, and I trust that everything aligns with God’s plan for me. What really sets me apart is my passion for helping others, whether it’s my kids, students, players, friends, or even strangers. I genuinely enjoy making a positive impact. As my brand grows, I’m excited to start a scholarship program for high school seniors in the Fort Worth area.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
A lot of credit goes to my circle. My children have been a huge help, especially with designs, and my students often come up with creative ideas. My friends have supported me from the start, and even complete strangers who order from the brand or share posts and links have made a big difference. I can’t forget about my amazing brand ambassadors—they genuinely love the product and do a great job modeling it, helping to spread the word about the brand. Everyone has played a role in my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support.
